Craigs list is not the answer also.   Ours numbers were sold to them and now we are being called.  Really stupid.  I have never even been on Craigs list.... Do not understand the prank part of it.  What type of satisfaction would they have unless they think they are torturing the Crazy Americans.....  If this is the case

My husband was prank calling me with this number so I'm sure it is someone trying to play a joke on you. I think he was using an app or something. He kept calling me and pissing me off till I busted him!!!

i was phone from this number today it populated as a unknown number but i was cool with answering it. BE WARNED the posed as my Cell company. how they received my number IDK but they we admit about me owing a bill. they went as far as to tell me it would be shut off that same day. not sure but i wanna say it an IP phone number.

SCAM DO NOT GIVE OUT INFO. oldest scam in the book.... NEVER PAY BILLS TO AN UNKNOWN NUMBER......CALL COMPANY there claiming to be to REPORT IT.

Go to your app store and download Mr. Number. It's free and blocks unwanted calls and texts. Try it with this number-hopefully it will work.

Hey its been a bit since I needed to go on here about these people doing these prank calls and I have been going through this for 7 years and I've done everything possible to stop this [***] and what you need to do is report it to the cops and let them know about these numbers 8283686237 and 6696686237 they use both numbers! The more of use who stand up and report this the more likely something will get done . When you do report them aslo let them know I have 13 or 14 police reports in Milton ontario and it is conected bc they said everything from sexual harassment , to threatening to shoot my wife , we have aslo been stalked , and me and my brother inlaw were run off the road on our bikes because of these people. So Report these people and we might get this to stop . I know we don't know each other but we need to stand together

Just got the sprint I phone yesterday and received my first private number call at 2 am. greatful my phone was on silent

When you call an Iphone blocked ( *67) it shows up as this phone number..

I get prank called by these people every day

Called 4 times from this number around midnight . Didn't answer and they didn't leave a voicemail .

The calls can come from anyone with a blocked or private number. Had my brother call blocking his # using *67 and it showed up same long number .  Have a friend call you & block their #. If you have an iPhone with sprint this is what will happen :)

I was beginning to think the same; I wasn't sure if it was sprint or the iPhone because before I switched over, I had never received such calls. I started to get scam texts as well when I switched.

my friend keeps getting those calls...DONT fall for it...its just another scam. they hit hard after tax season. Put your number on the no call list. After Feb everyones numbers cell phones included went public...

This person keeps calling me from this number informing me that my partner is cheating..However, this is untrue,then he called our jobs.  It is imperative we find out who this person is.

I think you're correct and its from withheld (or lines set to withhold) numbers. I had a call yesterday to my that I know was from my local GP surgery - I know for sure because it was the only call all day and they left a voicemail. On the phone the number appeared as "unknown number", but in the call blocker software I use on my blackberry (set to bounce "withheld" numbers straight to voicemail) had recorded the first number below.

Next day, same thing but no voicemail, so I'm not 100% sure that was also the GP, but I suspect may have been a domestic line withholding the number as this time the screen showed "private number", the call blocker showed the second number below.

My first guess was that the doctors surgery was sing a commercial VOIP service like Skype, but now I suspect it may apply to all withheld numbers.

In short the calls others are getting may be prank, marketing or the GP, but the number you are seeing has no connection to who is calling.
