My boyfriend has posted a Honda on CL and he keeps getting constant back to back calls from this number. Its every aggravating and now is making us very uneasily.

Got same "unknown" hang up.  Also have car recently on craigslist.

Get a call, call it back and "it is no longer in service".  Ugh!!

Constant calls throughout the day. No response from calling party. Harassment.

Three calls today. No answer one the other line. I'm selling a jeep on craigslist. When I try to call back, I can't even dial the area code before the operator recording comes on and says I have to dial a 1 before the area code. I DID DIAL A 1!!! Wish there was something we could do about this.

7839621224 is calling repeatedly. When I would answer, it'd hang up. I have set it to send them directly to voice mail, which there is no message anyway...

Called me for last 3 months after posting car on crags list. They never talk and always  hand up if i say hello. Wtf!
Such a crape scam they dont even try. Just down right annoying.

I placed an ad to sell my truck on Craigslist and have been receiving calls from 783-962-1224.  I answer the phone but there is dead air.  I've tried to block it on Verizon Wireless, but it won't let me block the call.  I have removed the ad from Craigslist. This number calls at least twice a day every day even though the ad is no longer on Craigslist. I believe it to be a computer generated call but I could be wrong.

i put a couple of vehicles on Tallahassee Fl Craiglist about a month ago. This number has called me at least a dozen times since then.

I have cussed um out, told um NOT to call back. They are still calling...at least a dozen calls in approx. a month !

I am on the no call list, and no solicitation on craigslist. These people are breaking the law and dont care who they harass. Everyone needs to report them to the proper authorities!!

The TCPA is the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which was passed into law in 1991. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued rules and regulations implementing the TCPA which then went into effect on December 20, 1992. 

A number of court challenges to parts of the TCPA have been brought.  All failed.

The TCPA was a merging of two bills in Congress, and it deals with several distinct issues:
Use of automated dialing equipment and prerecorded messages.Facsimile (fax) transmissions.
In 2003, the FCC amended its rules under the TCPA to implement the national Do-Not-Call list.

In 2005, Congress amended the TCPA to establish a new exemption to permit some additional unsolicited fax transmissions that previously were not permitted under the statute.

In general, people who have received telemarketing calls, unsolicited faxes, prerecorded calls, or autodialed calls to cellphones, may bring suit (in your local state court, including in small claims court) against the person making those calls if they violate the TCPA.  The statute provides statutory damages, generally from $500 to $1500 for each violation, which are paid to the consumer.
