They keep calling my cell phone,  I don't owe anyone a penny,  so it's either a sales call or wrong number.  Please make them stop

Why am I being called by this number? I do not have any unpaid debt. The message is broken up and incoherent so I can not figure out the identity of the caller or the content of the message. I want them to stop calling me for no reason.

This place called me four days ago and I didn't answer.  Then they called two days ago at 6 am, then hung up.  Their time zone is East Coast and I'm 2 or 3 hours behind them.  They've been calling for over 2 years, looking for the person who USED TO have this #.  Each time, I tell them this is no longer his # and tell them to stop calling me, but they still keep calling.  And, often it's a hang up.  I called them 2 days ago and asked them to stop calling, but they claim they will keep right on calling.  And, in fact, they just called me again, 30 minutes ago.  They state they have the "right" to continue calling me because my phone # is on some long-overdue bills that belong to someone else and they state that they are not going to stop calling because "the Do Not Call rules don't apply", since they're not telemarketing.  I even went to the point of researching the person they want, and offered to give them his new #, but they didn't want it.  I further stated that they are never going to collect this bill by calling someone who has nothing to do with it, but they still keep calling.  They actually suggested that, if I want them to stop calling, I should change my phone #.  Sounds simple, but it costs # and I'd have to change it with over 100 people/businesses, etc.

I'd love to see a class action suit filed against this company.  I've started taking photographs of my caller id (shows the date, time, and phone # that they called) so I have proof of their call. From what I understand, if the phone disconnects when you answer, it means the auto-dialer couldn't find a free collection person, so it disconnected.  Anyway, I called the place back again today and the guy told me it wasn't them, but I told them I took a picture of my caller id and I am keeping proof of every call.  He passed me to his supervisor, who ran a query and it proved that they called me.  There has got to be a law against this and a lawyer who would be willing to prosecute....Seems like there's a law to protect the person who owes the debt, but not the person who had the bad fortune of getting the phone # the debtor used to have.  Personally, I consider this unjustified harassment, especially when I've repeatedly told them to stop.

Got a missed call/voicemail from this number.  The voicemail was automated, said to wait for the message to follow and then there was no message.  Called it back (after hours?) and there was no company name, just a voicemail box for Pamela.
Called back during their regular hours - Accounts Recovery Collection Agency.  My insurance denied a bill from my doctor and they were very insistant that I pay it RIGHT NOW or authorize them to bill my insurance again by giving them my full SSN.  The woman on the phone had told me my name, date of birth, and last four already, but wanted my full social.  When I said that I didn't feel comfortable with that, she said that this wasn't a scam, if that's what I thought and that she needed to verify my SSN so she could bill my insurance.
They probably are who they say they are, but after several phone calls to them, during which I have been hung up on, put on "hold" but can hear them talking about cookies and then hung up on again, been told that I'm being difficult when I'm hesitant to give them personal information, and the manager who was supposed to return my call never did.

I've been getting calls from this number for a few days now....never anyone there, and "Pamela" is not available when I call back because "the office is closed". I was recently treated for cancer, but all my bills are paid as they arrive in the mail. If any are unpaid it's because I never received them in the first place. After reading previous posts here, I'm blocking the number -I don't even want to get involved with these people!!

Obviously YOU have never personally been harrassed by this RIDUCULOUSLY UNSCRUPULOUS company.  They are NOT legit in the sense that NO they are NOT allowed to harrass friends, family and or neighbors!!!!

Even when you answer and speak to a human nothing EVER gets resolved.  My brother-in-law has been in collections for 22 years and he has stated that this company "walks a VERY fine line" when it comes to what they're LEGALLY allowed to do no matter what state their VICTIMS are living.

I was constantly getting calls from this number for a person with the same last name as me.  I have absolutely no idea who this person is.  I press 2 for not him and it rings back forever with no answer.  I called 1-866-230-1954 which was listed on this forum and the lady said she was connected with 800-220-1622.  i told her i didn't know this person and she was half rude and said she'd remove my number from the sytem.  I told her i didn't want anymore calls or i would contact a lawyer.  she proceeds to tell me that maybe he had this number before i did.  i told her that was kind of funny that a person with the same last name as me had the number before (i don't have a common last name for my area).  then she says, well this is the number he gave.  again, yeah right!  so claimed the number was removed and then she hung up on me.  we'll see if it stops.

They've been calling non-stop for several days now--no message if you miss them, no person to talk to if you answer, no way to tell them that in fact you neither owe any medical debt nor are you the person they're looking for.  We've filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General's office about them before (they were calling one of our cell phones, looking for another wrong person), I guess it's high time we file another complaint.

You have rights: Federal law requires that debt collectors treat you fairly. In short, that means:

A debt collector may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram, or fax, but may not contact you at inconvenient times or places – for example, before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m – unless you agree. A debt collector may not contact you at work if the collector is aware that your employer prohibits it.
If an attorney is representing you about the debt, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. If you don’t have an attorney, a collector may contact other people only to find out your address, your phone number, and where you work.
A debt collector may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact about you.
A debt collector may not lie or mislead anyone when collecting a debt.

Do not give your social security number to this outfit.  They are not allowed to use your social security number.  It may be some kind of scam?

Also the posts on here that tell you to pay your bill may be a a part of it.

This IS a collection agency, Accounts Recovery Bureau, Wyomissing, PA.  I don't know who all of their clients are, but one is Alliance Medical Group.  So if you owe a doctor's bill, this may be why they're calling.
