eVisibility CEO Subsidizes Cost of Gas for All Southern California Employees

eVisibility Inc., an Internet marketing agency with over 35 employees, is launching a new gas subsidy program for all its San Diego and Riverside County employees. The new program will cap the price of gas at $2.25/gallon beginning July 1, 2008. This is being done with the hope of relieving some stress of the daily commute to work. With San Diego gas prices now hitting $4.60/gallon and rising, employees driving from South San Diego County spend an average of $369/month on fuel to make the estimated 73 mile round trip commute to work. "Just a couple years ago this same group spent around $180/month," said Danny DeMichele, Founder and CEO of eVisibility.

DeMichele says more than 30 percent of his staff travels more than 70 miles each work day. The remaining employees travel less than 18 miles to and from work. The gas subsidy program works by paying the difference between the cost of gas at the beginning of each month and a set price of $2.25/gallon. For the monthly payout, the office was broken into two groups, representing those who had a long commute versus those with shorter ones. If gas prices stay close to $4.60/gallon, the group with the longer commute will receive approximately $190 starting on July 1, while the group with the shorter commute will receive about $50. eVisibility estimates the program will cost between $45,000 and $55,000 for the first year.

"I was literally on the brink of trading in my truck for one of those hybrids," said eVisibility´s Director of Search Engine Optimization, Steven Peron, who falls into the long-distance commuter category. "After Danny (DeMichele´s) announcement, I happily dropped the idea altogether. I love that truck."

"Soon, we´ll also incentivize those who carpool, move closer to the office or buy fuel efficient cars, but many people just don´t have this option. We needed something that helps them now," said DeMichele. "I´d be a fool to believe companies closer to home aren´t looking more and more attractive each time an employee fills up their tanks." Today, eVisibility enjoys a voluntary turnover rate of less than 2 percent a year and DeMichele is intent on not losing a single person to the high cost of fuel.

When I answered the phone no one was there.  I called back a couple of times and each time I got a message stating-- "Please hold for customer service" and then I listened to music for a while.

actually, zipweb is not a scam they just olny inviting your business if you want there free one month trial.. that is why if you want you want to try it out you will bill 49.95

Foreign sounding woman (Indian?) gave almost the exact spiel that confidencial (sic) reported.  I told her that I could hardly understand her.
She said she would call back.  I said not to bother.  We shall see

I just got suckerd!  Fortunately I used to be the property supervisor for that commercial building at 16133 Ventura, and when I asked for the suite number they said there was none.  I know for a fact that it's a highrise with a lot of doctors and attorneys. I will of course follow-up in my prosecuting attorney style fashion, especially after reviewing all of your comments.  Thanks for sharing.

11/7/08 Follow-up:  Called George/C.S. and asked if Pamela Johnson worked for them and he said she was a sales rep. at another call center, I asked where, he said some other state.  He looked up my # and there was no info.  Said I wanted to be deleted.  Told me to call back on Tues. bet. 11 am - 8 pm. Dir.# x247, name is GEORGE ZEPEDA, HEAD REP. FOR CUST. SVC. & he would make sure I was'nt in the system.  If you don't hear from me its resolved. Call this guy and bug him for a change.  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!

I called the number back this morning, after being called like everyone else leaving messages here.  They answered the phone as Customer Service.  I told them I was reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission, and that if I receive one charge on ANY bill coming into this house from ZIPWEB, they will be hearing from me again.  
I am on the do not call list, but since this is also used as a business phone, they can call for that reason.  She looked up my phone number and put my number on a do not call list for this company. I told her that they are a scam, taking advantage of people during a horrible economy, and that I understand that you need a job too, but not at my expense.  It isn't right.
She asked me what kind of company it was, and I told her it was the company my husband started after the company he worked for closed, and we lost our health insurance, so he could put me through Nursing School, and I asked her if she understood that!, and that I am not going to let her or anyone *&#K that up!
So, this is my advice - call them back, and make them do it!

They call all the time, but won't say what they are calling about.  This is a business phone number, and it is extremely annoying!

I just got a call from these idiots and the person on the other end was speaking a language I couldn't identify (perhaps Middle Eastern?!?). I said "hello?" And they promptly hung up. This was the second time they called within a couple of hours. The first time, I left the machine answer. Of course, no message!

this is a scam I dont care what anyone says they got me and now I am trying to get it straightened out. An Ohio lawyer on another site is working up a lawsuit and I want to provide him with the names of the employees as well since they clearly lied to me. here is all the information I could find on them.The website listed is BBB page about them. The people that work there are liars do not even talk to them if they call you or it is likely you will get a charge on your phone bill and you will spend hours trying to get it taken care of.

Do not pay any attention to anyone here that says zipweb is not a scam they probably work for them. I was set up to be the "featured company" I went to the page they set up last week and it was a blank page with my company name and a phone number it did not say what my company did so how can anyone search for it. I tried to log in to add information and the site does not even work.I tried to bring up the page they set up for me this morning and it is not even there anymore. After finding dozens of complaints I called them today to cancel and was told the system was down and they could not do that I asked for a manager and of course there was not one there. They are liars and cheats Mark Cave also owns lawstar do a BBB search on that there are dozens of complaints I want to see this guy behind bars or sued out of existance

Trust me, the British hillbillies (Mark Cave and David Harris) behind this operation are laughing all the way to the bank.    Yes, the positive comments on this thread are created by ZipWeb insiders.  BOTTOM LINE: you are being scammed.  Do not agree to the "free" trial.

Does anyone know how I can file a federal complaint against these dolts for harassment via telephone communications? They called me three times on 1/5/2009 within a 6 hour period. I was in my office for the second call, not the other two. The first and third calls were answered by my machine, but they left no messages. The call I answered, I was hung up on by some foreign-speaking individual. I called these people on Monday and threatened to turn them in to the feds if they called me just one more time. They called again Tuesday, the 6th. I called them back and reminded them *NEVER* to call again. They called me a *THIRD* day in a row, today. They have even sent me an invoice for services via USPS. I've had it!
