A guy left a message saying his name was Bill, and that I had won something, and to call him back at 1-800-301-3436. When I called that number a recording with his voice said to hold for the operator. A guy with a different voice answered and said"Jesus loves you and lick my ass!" and hung up.

I've left some key words out in case they search site for particular phrasing which would be a confirmation.

Report abuse from collectors, surveys, telemarketers

Don't call back. If they are serious, they would personally call and leave you with their name, specific title, from what company and exact contest entered and ending on exact date.

Call your Senators and House Rep's. tell them your tired of the wasted time "opting out" rather then "opting in" to marketing programs and business privacy programs. Privacy is a constitutional right. Because the constitution doesn't guarantee otherwise, the right falls to People.

Write the Direct Marketing Association asking you to be removed from their members lists. It takes about 1-2 months to stop most of the junk calls and mail, but your about 5 years in the clear.

Sign up on the national do-not-call list. Cell phones, too.

In The USA - Free Speech guarantees legitimate direct marketing companies the right to hassle the tax paying (or not) citizens.

Don't be fooled by direct marketing attempts at collecting information through fill-in the blank postcards "contests" at the mall or at big store chains where such "contest" cards can easily be placed without management approval.

Don't push 2 to be removed from automated phone callers. Nor reply to emails to "opt out" doing so is notification they have an active phone number or e-email address.

Also, learn how e-mail works and your e-mail program. Set your mail to receive text only, unless you have a very good understanding of blocking spam. You can view headers of messages without opening the e-mail, too.

Get some free accounts to sign on to forums, etc. So you can filter them and dump them when they become spam-a-lot accounts. Re-sign up on forums, don't just change to new email address.

Learn how and what you need to do keep your most important email address', your personal information, as private as possible.

His name was Bill (still using the same person) and he said word for word what several of the other post said. Beware of wolves in sheep clothing!

The scam continues.  Received a call from "Phil" at the Prize Distribution Center from the Grand Sweepstakes Giveaway.  He said I entered to win a Lincoln Navigator and even though the date had passed, he had good news for me. I was to return his call at 800-301-3436.  This is the second time I got this message within the past year.  Didn't call back either time
