- TammyReceived a text then a call. I was suspicious and asked what bank they are calling for They said my NBT credit card ring in XXxX. This was correct. They had my name and needed more info to verify me, I quickly said my address and they said it was correct as they had listed. She said I had fraud charges. She said they were flagged and denied. Then she read off my most recent 3 charge amounts and company that I charged the amounts. These were correct. I did charge the exact amount as she said. But there were 2 fraud charges to iTunes which was not me that immediately were denied and I was notified. My credit card account online was immediately locked and I could not log on until this was resolved. I fully believe this is a legit call.

- Mike| 1 replyI also received a call from this number (automated call) and indicated for me to stay on the line. The only thing was the card ending xxxx was not my card. They indicated that they needed to transfer me to the company holding my card. This transfer took me to my "actual" card ending with the correct number. They could not validate why I was being called (no recent transactions) and indicated it might be a phishing call. I googled the phone number and US Bank Fraud dept came up. I am still suspicious that the call was not legitimate.

- ZiggyLegit. Fraud department for a credit card company. They are pretty persistent when trying to verify if your card has been compromised
- Capernicus Portum| 1 replyI got a voicemail and two missed calls from this number (they called at 5 in the morning). The computer generated message stated that they where a fraud prevention department. They called me by name and stated that they had questions about my card ending in XXXX with the correct digits. I was not able to find this number on the back of my card so I called one that was and there was in fact a lock down on my card.
I would not trust this number. CALL the numbers provided on the back of your card. Don't call this number back. If it is legitimate, they should not call back after you take care of the problem.- Caller: Card Member Service Fraud Prevention Department

- TommieThey attempted three calls shortly after I made an Internet charge to purchase some software. I phoned the call back number and verified that I am the card holder; they listed the charge and I verified it. pretty straight-forward for me.

- CallieGot a text saying a $500 fraudulent charge was placed on my card. I googled this number and saw it didnt match the US bank fraud department. I called the 877 US bank number instead and asked them if i had a fraudulent charge and they said nothing was on there in the amount of $500. I gave them the 8003086995 number and the lady said no such number was in existence for US BANK. Please be aware guys, don’t just call any random number!!
- Caller: Says they are “Us bank”
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- stacieThey left me a message. When i did call back the automated voice said my phone # could not be verified & then a lady came on asking me for my credit card #. If this was legit she would already have that info. I hung up. I think this was a scam!!!!!!

- bpbGot calls and text from this unrecognized number. Used the (different) number on the back of the credit card to call, and there were a bunch of fraudulent charges. The unrecognized number was used to get to their Fraud department directly without waiting in queue and getting transferred; I'm in computer security, so I told them "Put that number on the card!".
Remember: phone numbers can be forged. I recommend not using an unrecognized number; use the number on the card itself. You may have to wait longer, but you'll get to the right place. Oh, and if you don't have your card (lost or stolen), contact the issuer by phone (e.g., in my case, call REI) and ask for the number for the credit card. If instead you search on the 'Net, you may find a scammer number instead. If you must search online, be sure ONLY to search on the vendor or issuing bank website -- can you spot the difference between citibank.com and citibаnk.com? Probably not, and if you don't type in the address manually, CORRECTLY, then the scammer has you.
But in this case, no scammer in the call or text -- just the bank's fraud department. And the agent was very helpful and professional, by the way.- Caller: REI MasterCard

The safe way to go is to take the info and then call the number on the back of your card - a number you know is good and you dial for yourself. - MikeSomebody hit my card for 1$ (american cancer society) ~~~I called my bank to find out! Seems the 1$ is an attempt to see if the card is good + then they will hit the card for for $$$$. Anybody here dealing with VIP Outlet in Florida?

- MalchahI got a message from this number saying it was the Fraud Dept. from my Elan Credit card calling to report suspicious activity. They left this number to call back and also gave a case number. They also called my home number 3 times in a row, at 10 AM, 10:17 AM, and 10:33 AM. I called the number on my credit card and asked for the Fraud dept. They said they did not call me and that this call was a scam.

- Andy H| 1 replyI believe this may actually be from VISA, although they claim to be U.S. Bank Card Services. I received a string of calls yesterday and text messages but it didn't seem legit. Went to use my card and it was declined. Called card member services on the back of my card and they said there had been fraud on my card and VISA was advising it be closed. The 8003086995 may be legit but if it is their aggressive calling and texting is very suspicious. Long story short, just call the number on the back of your credit card to resolve the issue.
