Caller ID showed 800-380-1196. Caller did not identify himself. He did mention this was regrading my AT&T account and that I should call back within 24hrs to get a valid credit card on the account to avoid interruption of service. The call back number was 800-351-9056. I called back AT&T and they suspect fraud.

Rc'd a call from 800-380-1196. Claimed to be a Joe from AT&T with an acct number. Already suspicious I called and referenced the acct number and the lady would not tell me what was on the acct so I told her to do anything further by mail.

Called, regarding our over due ATT account, I would say legit. Just wanted to tell us our account was overdue and because we were using autopay and the card got declined, autopay was disabled. Didn't ask for any personal information and actually offered to give me my account number for reference.

This number is NOT a scam. I work for AT&T  Business Receivables Management and the number 800-380-1196 is a real number. Its the main line for collections on business wireless accounts.  If you get a call then you have an account that is past due so don't be surprised if your cell phone its suspended because you "thought" it was a scam and didn't return the call.

If it is a call from a credible person, then why don't they leave a message? 2x calls from this number an no message left... seems exactly like what a credible company would do... or, no, wait, seems exactly like what a scammer would do - keep calling until they get me live on the phone to run their scam on me...

Just saying, if it is AT&T, maybe you should figure out a better, customer-friendly, method of notifying your customers that an auto-pay function has been disrupted for any reason. Just brainstorming... how about a text message. How about an email...

If this were reputable, AT&T would email customers in this day and age.  Besides there is NOTHING on the Caller ID to indicate this number is from them..it's only an 800# and could represent "anybody".

Just on the phone with ATT and it is NOT a credible number.  Do not call this number nor send them any money!  I was sent a letter requesting $.03 cents.

800 380 1196 left me a (rather poor audio quality) message about AT&T and bill and something about impacting my service. I called AT&T using 611 from my phone and checked my account status. It really was overdue. Appreciate getting the call, fraud or not.

You are a LIAR, this is a scam, I get calls for multiple reasons from a "Lorenzo Blunt" first he called saying they were stopping by the office to change the At&t analog lines to digital, etc, and he was from the Technical Services Department.  First of all I am an IT professional, I know that is [***].  Secondly, we do not use At&t for phone, wireless, or anything else.  Today this idiot is calling again saying he is from the At &t Accounts payable department pretending we have an unpaid bill and wants to give me a [***] scam phone number so we can call to pay this nonexistent bill for a company we do not do business with and gives me a made up account number.  I told him to send me a real bill from At&t.  I have called A t & t and they have confirmed that this is a scam and has nothing to do with them. FU Lorenzo.

Telephone message woman's rehearsed recorded message something like: This is AT&T calling about and important matter. This is not a sales call. If you are the account holder and person responsible for the following account number (my phone number) please call us for some important information about your account"

"This is not a sales call" tells it all. I did call back for a very similar sounding message. Basically they somehow know you are due for an upgrade on your phone and they want to be the ones to upgrade you. The guy I called back acted very confident he was working for AT&T but AT&T doesn't give a hoot about it's customers so it was strange they wanted to have a friendly chat.  Maybe contractors, may be scammers. I find that if I go into the AT&T store they have all the available models so I don't need this service. If it was AT&T they would leave some canned message and tell you to visit their retail outlet.
How do these phone people get paid? My guess is that when accounts are overdue they act like bounty hunters and get a commission on collected debt. Otherwise they try make a commission re-signing you to a contract. Don't know. I delete and ignore.

I received a call from this number.  I hung up as I just don't do business on the phone when they call me.  I immediately called ATT 611 number and rep said my call was regarding a past due amount.  I appreciate getting this call, cannot afford to lose this service.  I explained that their web sight was not clear.  My bill said it was due one date and the online page gave a later date/another date???  I told her I assumed the due date change and the amount on the web sight was due to the additional line. She explained why and I advised they needed to make some changes to avoid confusion to customers.  Very polite young lady.. Thank you ATT wireless..

Very derogratory message with F bombs all over it.  Claiming to have a pending order with AT&T and once reached the site after a 6 hr wait only to find out the order had been cancelled.  The caller called into AT&T customer CneterPoint Energy and left the message.  CenterPoint Energy did not have a pending order request and the caller appearx to be targeting AT&T customers.  The number the caller called from was 800-380-1196 and it flowed to AT&T cusstomer CenterPoint Energy at 612-321-5488.  CenterPoint Energy rreviewed the call through their network coming from 210-386-6034.

THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR MONEY!!  The phone call or the statement you receive in the mail is a fake.  Search on Google for AT&T Mobility...you will find the real number is 800-331-0500.  AT&T also says this:  Use your AT&T wireless phone to dial *BAL# (*225#), or *SAL# (*725#) for Spanish, to get a free text message containing your account balance, last payment received, and next bill due date.
