These people call me every couple days and don't answer me back. I hung up and hit redial and told them to never contact me again, I don't have any loans with them and they were making fraud phone calls I was told they would keep calling me back that I have a loan with them and I told them not to call me again or I was going to contact an attorney. I then hung up on her, she couldn't hardly speak English.

They called saying that they are from BOA and that they need my  social Security number. I don't give them any information but I did take action and went to to BOA and they called the number and told me it is a scam

Received a call today, sounded like it was from India.  They claimed to be calling from bank of america about my auto loan.  I've received some suspicious calls recently about my accounts so I told them I would investigate further on the website and get back to them.  They seemed to have no problem with that so it's kind of weird.

I wonder if this is a legit company being hired by another entity posing as bank of america.  They're asking them to collect information and this company in india has no idea why they're being asked to collect it.  Thats why they give up so easily when you deny them the information, they think its no big deal if can't be provided right away.  Its quite an intricate scam and quite well crafted...

All, I am a BOA customer. I have an auto loan from BoA. I have communicated with a manager from BoA (he called me, I returned his calls as we kept missing each other). I finally spoke with him last week and he has sent me the documents he promised he would send.

I just got a call again from this number and my guess is that he wanted to verify that I have received the documents, since KI never got what they initially sent.

However, I am saying the following as a  Cyber Security professional. Just because this number is legit does not mean everyone calling you from it is legit! And just like your IP Address can be spoofed, so can a phone number.

Also, note that during my calls, they have never asked me to provide my SS#! At least not the full. The practice is to ask you for the last four. So, I must caution you. A phone number can be legit--and this one is. But that does not mean anyone calling from it is legit--or that every call originating from this number is legit. Otherwise, why would they call someone who has no account with BoA?

I will call the number tomorrow and if I get the manager, I will share with him these concerns. Please DO exercise extra caution.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks!  I have just blocked this number.  I have an auto-loan with BofA, but it's more than current.  I'll just wait till they write if there is a true issue.  Thanks for sharing!

I received several calls from this number and after googling it found this list of people reporting the number as possibly being from Bank of America regarding an auto loan.  I looked at my BofA account online and did see a missed payment due to a mix up in the auto pay.  The next time I received a call from the number I spoke to the person and the only verification info they asked for was my street address. They DID NOT ask for my SSN.  Once I verified my address they were able to give me all of the details regarding my account including make/model/year of my newly purchased car, the exact dollar amount of the payment, and the amount that I was overdue.  Having access to that info seems to indicate them being legit along with the fact they didn't ask for anything more than address.  I had already corrected the payment issue online so they didn't pursue any additional info and simply confirmed that I had made the past due payment and that reason for the missed payment which was simple mix up in setting up the auto payment online for this new loan.

If you do get a call from this number and have an auto loan through BofA I would check out your account online or call BofA directly to see if there are any issues.  Just to be safe I wouldn't give anything more than an address over the phone nor would I make a payment over the phone with them.  Correct any potential issue by contact BofA yourself or by going online to your account.  There is no need to give them any risky info like SSN or credit card info.

Its may be possible that a scammer has cloned this number knowing its a collection number from a bank.  That could mean some calls are legit and some are scams.

    Screw em
No message, no voice even when you pick up. Call incessantly. I know its BofA - their system has screwed up my auto drafts before, and I caught it and fixed it this time, but they're still calling. I don't know how they stay in business. Customer service is horrible, can't handle auto drafts, and even their auto dialer is weak on its execution. I'll never do business with them again.

Honestly, though, I despise that bank so much that if I was standing in their customer service phone bank and someone's mouth spontaneously combusted, I wouldn't even pee on them to put the fire out. Scum of the earth.

This caller called 16 times in the last three days. I ignored the call as I was on an adventure with my son. When I did answer the call, same as above, asking me for my SS# and she also knew what type of loan I had. I gave no info and called BOA customer service who verified this IS NOT a BOA phone number. Customer service also asked me to write to abuse@bankofamerica.com to report this call. NEVER GIVE YOUR SS#!  Even CS said they don't ask for that info.

This is a legit Bof A phone number. It is a caller id # that comes through using a dialer system and the same # shows on caller id if a person is manually calling the #.  This is why some people are right there on the line and some are delayed and why sometimes no message is left. They will not leave a message so they can try your number several times a day. The person making an outbound call will only ask to verify the address. Never give out your SSN to anyone. A caller id # can be made to look like it is coming from any phone by using an app so be careful. Only give your address and then make them tell you some info to confirm they have access to your loan.

When I got a call from this number and they were asking me for my entire SS number, I went online to www.bankofamerica.com and called them from one of their listed numbers.  They did NOT recognize this number and said they do not ask for the entire SS number.
