Got emails saying my tax return was accepted from Torbo tax Intuit when I have not worked in 7 years.
Called this in number for info and got the run around 4 times. They just wanted my personal info. I filed a police report. No one wanted to give me a full name only a first name saying it was against company policy. One guy said his computer locked up and he would call back. Did not. BOGUS

Didn't call, just found this charge on my bank statement from Intuit QuickBase (not QuickBooks). Found out it is Turbo tax... I don't use Turbo tax, never have. Also found 3 other unauthorized charges on my account on same day. Also received emails from the companies that charged me thanking me for my purchase... THAT I DID NOT MAKE. One company was legit and when I called they immediately refunded my $, bank refunded me the rest. Cool part is that one of the emails gave me the IP address that the purchases were made from. Turned that into bank and police, and I will press criminal charges. It appears that my taxes (done through a different company) were hacked so they got my cc #, email and name minimally off it... hope that's all they got... Also I heard recently Turbo Tax was hacked, sometime in February 2015.....so I'd be careful of them/not use them at all.... think I'll just start doing my easy taxes myself and mail them in...

Just had something very similar happen. Somebody charged eight copies of the state version of TurboTax to my wife's card number - a number which did not exist back when I used TurboTax. Why would anyone commit credit card fraud by buying copies (state only, mind you) of TurboTax?

Intuit was good about it and is refunding.

Quickbooks Customer Service toll free line was VERY helpful to  me yesterday.  They said they would call today and follow up with me today at 11:00.  I got this call at 10:50 with now message left.  I assume it is Quickbooks follow up as they promised.

Well I received several calls from 800-446-8848 and finally received a message.  This guy say his name is Martin from intuit and he has some important business he would like to discuss with me.  I never called back.  So this morning received a call from the same number and I answer. A guy with a very heavy Arabic accent ask for me by name and begin to try and tell me something about what I signed up for online and the company name was something totally different from the voicemail. I told him I did not sign up for anything and he said well ma'am this call is being recorded and I just politely hung up the phone and put a block on this number.  This is so ridiculously people just get your number and call you trying to get your hard earned $$$ and many of us are struggling as it is.  SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

Intuit TurboTax. We’re reaching out because you may qualify for a tax break if you paid mortgage insurance in 2017. On Feb. 9, 2018, the government passed the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, which includes a tax break called the mortgage insurance deduction. Both private mortgage insurance (PMI) and mortgage insurance premiums (MIP) are included in this deduction, but not homeowners or hazard insurance.

The purpose of my call is to let you know about the updated tax law now because you filed your return before the IRS issued guidance and final changes were in place. You should have recently received an email that describes this change in detail; if you are eligible for this tax break you can choose to file an amended tax return to get the benefit. Amending your return is free and there’s no rush to amend your return, you can amend at any time.

If you would like to have help reviewing this information, you can speak with a Product Specialist at (844)333-2182 (M-F from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time).

The number claims to be calling from Intuit/Quickbooks/Turbo Tax.

    This is a SCAM number.
Genuine QBO customers have called QBO help saying this number has reported their accounts to be corrupted and they need to pay to regain access.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PAYMENT INFORMATION.

Got a call from 800-446-8848 on Friday. Caller ID says INTUIT. Guy with Indian Accent told me that My Quickbooks subscription license was about to expire and I needed to renew. I told him I had just been on the phone the day before with INTUIT for 2 hours getting upgraded to Quickbooks 2019 and paid $219 for that. I certainly don't have an expiring license. I was in my car driving when he called and kept insisting I owed for renewal. I got rather loud with him and scared my young grandchild who was in the car with me. I would have been using the F-Bomb to him if I hadn't had grandchild with me. He finally hung up on me. I don't trust anyone of those actual INTUIT people or there are several number on Google for INTUIT and they are scammers. I have been scammed by someone who I thought was INTUIT last year. They actually helped me transfer my Quickbooks account from one computer to another, charged me $1648 for 5 future years of customer assistance and updates, but guess what, 6 months later when I needed assistance and called two numbers they had given me, the number are disconnected.
