I have a NEW (less than a month) pre paid number a I started to get 3 or 4 calls  a week 2 weeks ago. Never answer these calls because NOBODY that I know in this moment has this number. This will be an emergency phone for my wife, not for stupid calls. We don't owe or have debts (by the moment)

It's Infinity Group, a debt collection agency.

You can send a letter via certified mail informing them your phone no. and not to call you anymore. That any attempt to contact you should be via mail.

They are looking for James Erickson. We are not James Erickson, but we receive several calls a month from collection agencies, government offices, medical, and even a school looking for this person. We've had this number for about 18 months, yet they still call looking for the other person. Informing them seems to do nothing because they debt is just resold to another debt collection agency. Our no. is on the do not call list, but that seems to mean nothing to these people.

The law should be changed to make these debt collection agencies do a reverse lookup on the phone no. and if it doesn't make their deadbeats name, then they should remove the number. .

these guys called my 82 year old father, I am in my 50's, have no idea how they linked us because I have never used my dad for anything credit bills or otherwise. this is about as low as you can go!!

I love this idea.  This company claims to have purchased old debt which has either been settled in a court of law, or where the SOL (statute of limitations) has long run and has been off your credit report for years.  I once had one of these places call and tell me they had purchased an old debt where there was an "Accord and Satisfaction" and the SOL had long run.  They actually threatened my life!  They told me to cash in my life insurance policy and pay them what they wanted or they'd see to it I never needed life insurance again!  Against the law - yes - now, that is, but no such laws were in place at the time.  Don't ever admit to having owed a debt in the past, and don't think that paying them something, even when you don't feel you owe it, just to get them off your back, will quell them.  It will only start the SOL running, again.  Ignore these calls and file complaints with your state Attorney General, etc.  There are class action lawsuits pending against various collection agencies.  I suggest you search the info on the internet and opt-in if you can.  Good luck.

Receieved many calls on a cell phone. Caled them and spoke with "Kimberly". She said she removed my number. They never asked for my name.

Immediately wrote an email to them to confirm and stated that I would start a local legal action if the calls to that number or any of my numbers persisted.

They are an interstate agency and a such would be required to show up in my local court room if served.

I suspect that this will stop the calls.

By the way, if you ever receive a call and are asked if you are "so and so", we never say "yes"- we ask "who is calling". Then never use the word yes in your conversation, if you have one.

perhaps time to call them a few times and ask for their President to discuss debt collection- 800 numbers can be costly................

I called Gulf State Utilities and they informed that this infinity collection agency was not one of their debt collectors. I tried to contact the person who called me from 18004500737 and i got no answer. I got my credit report and they didn't report it to the credit breau showing that they colllectd the payment from me for entergy or Gulf State utilities on 11/09/12. i didn't recieve . i neeed to talk to a representative for this company asap my phone is (337)990-3678

Robo calls should be outlawed!!! New Phone, Brand New Number. What would they want from a 12 year old??
