I have recieved numerous calls from this number and it is an automated message saying " you have not responded to our calls, and this is the last day to sign up for your website we have set aside for you, to continue go to www.searchenginestartup.com and follow the prompts and when you come to the promo page enter your number XXXX. It takes only 5 minutes to set up your own website." Upon call back 800-486-9962 gives the same automated message and a NEW promo code number. This is a scammer, do not fall for anything they (automated, no live person) ask you to do. Have been reported to the DO NOT CALL list!

I recieved a call from this number, asked me to sign up for a website and enter a promo code at this website; www.searchenginstartup.com. I didn't speak to an actual person, but an automated message said that the promo code is valid and will expire within 5 minutes. I don't recall creating a website, so I am not going to fall for this scam.

Total SCAM!!! DO NOT FALL FOR IT.  Report it to the do not call registry.

This is searchenginestartup.com  they don't do anything worth paying for. In fact, if you have a CPanel it does it for you automatically.  This is a totally bogus attempt to take your money and give you nothing in return.

Yes I too was just called to respond to this automated search engin start up.com 1-800-486-9962. @ 5:10 PM Today Sept 17, 2012Monday.

Automated call.  Was asked to call back about an access code for for website.

Renewed domains recently now getting calls every other day 800-486-9962.  Very vague as to what web site and who they are in message... SCAM to sell you web site design & hosting... Cannot jusge their work performance but don't like how they market so I'd never pick them....

Thank you for the info. I was contacted by these idiots and did not fall for it. I just registered my number on the do not call list. I did not know about this list until now, thanks to you;) BEWARE OF ALL SEO first page placement companies. This seems to be the new wave of internet crime and scams. BEWARE of 29 Prime, 29 Maps, Reliableplaces.com, Your Local Merchant, 29 orders. They are all the same company. Google them to see they are fraudulent. Take care!

I'm a web developer and consultant. They called and left me a message. I can tell you, given my experience and education, that this is completely bogus. You do not 'need these people for local search listings'.

Don't buy anything or return their calls.

I also received a call from this company but from a different number.  This was only weeks ago.  I am a Florida attorney considering legal action.  It appears they have been making these phone calls for years and to a great deal of people.  If you are aware of any legal action related to this company, please reach out to me at wesley@todd-legal.com or (813) 513-5440.

I although got a call yesterday, they are still in business. In the last 6 month I started two websites, I guess that's where they got my number. Thanks for all your comments, that really helps to identify scams like this.

I just purchased a domaine from Go Daddy and this company www.searchenginestartup.com  800-230-6683 keeps spamming my voice mail with bogus seo offers that I do not need or care about.  I received them on June 22, 15 at 2:06pm - June 24, 15 at 9:06am  - June - 26, 15 at 9:46am after I told the that I would bill them for my time and business.  ( This is ridiculous to have to deal with everyday now. )  I deleted the others because I was so upset.  I have never had an issue with Omnis network, or weebly.  Maybe We should sue Go daddy for farming our information?  It is very clear to us that they are giving out our information to the public.

I have been getting calls also after updating my website. I blocked the number after the second call. I am happy others report their experience as it gives me something to review when scam people start calling. 800 230 6683 was the number

Just a thought. Could these people not just be picking up you phone number from domain registries like Whois.
Normally that is part of the contact info when you register a new website. It would then be in the public domain.
