This appears to be Allstate Roadside Assistance. Oddly, I DO have roadside assistance through AARP/Allstate but at a much cheaper rate. They used my AARP credit card information to double bill me. I paid ~$70 for a year of AARP/Allstate Roadside Assistance and then Allstate charged me direct through my AARP credit card for ~$110.

I recently signed up for car insurance via Costco, so I've a feeling it's regarding that....however, I haven't answered the call, but they've called twice and haven't left a VM.

Call on my UNLISTED phone number.  Don’t know how they got it.  I wasn’t home & no msg was left...no surprise there!  I’ve changed to a unlisted number with my phone company & pay extra for it.  Doesn’t help one bit.  A waste of money!  Don’t know what the want & I don’t care.  I’m not interested.

Having an unlisted number does not mean that people cannot call you.  I don't know where that idea got started.  All it means is that your number is not listed with your name attached and that people many not know who you are.  However with the way data mining works, most likely your name and number are out there somewhere.

I got a call on my cell phone with the caller claiming to be from AAA. They left a message. They told me to call  800-527-1339 to verify policy information. I called the real number for AAA. They did NOT call me and verified that they did not have any questions for me and that my auto insurance is in good standing.

This company is a marketing company. somehow they have got a hold of your contact information and possibly auto or home insurance. They sends you letter to fill out survey if you don't respond they call you and tell you they are calling from your insurance company and collecting detail as it comes close to renewal. Verify your information so they can sell that detail information to many more vendors or could use for crime as well once they know your availability. I found out by calling immediately to my insurance company and they denied having such call.

I received a call from this number, I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. They left a message stating they were calling on behalf of my insurance provider Kemper auto which is true. They left me the number 800-527-1339 asking me to call back and provided a reference number to use when I called back. I called my insurance company directly and they stated that they did not have any notes as to why I got a call and that they have everything they need from to keep my policy active. My recommendation is if you get a call like this call your insurance provider directly to verify. If the insurance company does contract with outside agency to complete surveys, etc they should be aware of that so that if you call to confirm you know it is legit.

They just called me, I hung up with them and immediately called AAA (my insurance) and AAA told me they've never heard of that company, and they wouldn't give any outside party my information... So if MY insurance didn't know them, yours probably doesn't either. You might want to make sure you weren't scammed in some way, and or that your info didn't get leaked.

    Confused in Ca
It's been 9 yrs since the last comment was posted but I'd thought I'd share my experience up to this point so far. I just got the call from this number a bit after 5pm. The lady said she was calling about the info on my car insurance policy. Once she asked for my birth date that's when I decided to ask for her number (I wanted to check the net to see if it was legit) and end the call. Just a few hrs before this call I had went in to pay my monthly premium yet I wasn't asked any of the questions this lady asked of me. I googled the name of my insurance company and to my surprise none of the numbers out there match the one she gave me to return the call. I decided to call the office I had just went to. Gave them the low down, told them I wasn't comfortable giving out my info like that over the phone to some unknown caller with no face. She said she'd call them to make sure it was in fact someone from my insurance company who placed the call. As of now I'm still waiting to hear back from my agent. I'll come back to finish my experience once I get that call. As of now though I'm glad I didn't let that conversation continue because these days you just never know, smh
