I just called American Express and they have had numerous complaints about this fraudulent number.

American Express advises to not trust any number other than the one that is on the back of your card.

Apparently, this is actually a real number. American Express had told me it wasn't, when I called, but it is. I have clarified this now.

So ... you didn't run up all the charges in the first place (more than you can obviously afford) that they're calling you to pay, and they're harassing you to get the money you owe them. But THEY'RE the bad guys? Okay.

Is the Government taking any action to investigate harassing calls?

This website is about phone calls. It is plainly obvious that you did not receive a call from this number but have simply stopped by to complain about that credit card company. Your post belongs on Yelp, not here.

actually there is laws in canada, and probably the US also where they cannot call more than a specified time, and if they do they can receive a fine, or you can sue them for harrassment, ( I know, right?  your broke and sue them?  do it in small claims court yourself, not that hard, max is 100k there very simple show the law that they breached and become the hunter)
