Got a call. .they left a message saying their name Sandy something and that they'll be "working with me going forward".When u call them they say they're a debt collection agency and you either have to enter your social security number or your mortgage number or the extension of the person you're calling.

They called my cell phone. While I have no debt at all! What a bunch of grand larcenists.

It is a scam. They call you and won't tell you why they are calling unless you give them your personal info including SS#. They call your cell. Just block the number.

Called last night asking to verify my account with M&T Bank. Wanted my SSN and my mortgage account number. Asked them why and they wouldn't give me an answer. I hung up.

I have M&T bank for my mortgage. The number 800-724-1633 is their homeowner's assistance center and I've had to deal with that department in the past due to a bankruptcy, but I've never seen the caller ID come up as Amentie Bank MG. Any time they call it's always said M&T Bank. The message I received today (it's Saturday) was barely understandable. They mispronounced my name and mumbled their phone number. Any time I've tried to get in touch with them on a Saturday they were never in, now all of a sudden their mortgage department works weekends? I am out of bankruptcy and my mortgage is current. They give a grace period and seem to call for their money within that grace period. My mortgage is due on the 1st, I have until the 16th. Why are they calling on the 8th? Wondering if it's a scam...

They called me with this number and asked for my ss#

They called me today. The caller ID said Amentie Bank, so didn't answer bc I'd never heard of them. They left voice mail with no details, so not calling back. I later realized that Amentie Bank is very close to M &T Bank which is my mortgage company. I'm current on my mortgage & have never gotten a call from them, so I'll be calling them at the number on my statement to see if they called. Based on all the comments here, I have a feeling it's a scam..

They actually did not call me but left a door leaflet marked “confidential” with a small paper inside that said “URGENT! Please contact us immediately” with this number written (chicken scratch handwriting) Today is Saturday and I have no idea at what time today it was put onto my door. I didn’t find it until 10PM even though I had just gone out at 9:15...

They called me at almost 9 pm and asked for my address . They said they were from M&T and that’s where my mortgage is. When I asked what they wanted they would not answer anything unless I gave them my address. They didn’t even ask for me by name ? I don’t trust it , if it’s legit , they need better customer service . I think it’s a scam

Called my cell # at 11:06 a.m. today and caller ID said "Amentie Bank MG."  I didn't recognize the name, or number, but I was in a good mood and took the call.  Caller asked to speak to me by name, but I only said "who's calling?"  Female caller mumbled something and then asked again if I was "----."  Before I said anything about myself, I asked "what is this in regard to?"  To which caller replied, "Your account."  I knew that I didn't have any account with said company, so I replied, "NO I DON'T!" and hung up the phone.  I then went online to research the name of the company and I am finding out it is SCAMMERS.  BEWARE!  NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION!

M & T Bank is my mortgage provider and they are exceptional. I too received a phone call from the listed number and decided to check online first and found this thread. I then called my mortgage company directly asking if they had called me and in fact they did. Due to Covid, I had asked should things get tough financially, would they help avoid late fees etc and so they signed me up for forbearance protection until September 2020. The number is legitimate however if you are not signed up with M&T Bank, I'm uncertain why they would call you but the bank itself is definitely not a scam.

Cindy, M & T may be legitimate, but AMENTIE BANK is NOT!!  (Notice how if you pronounce it, is sounds like"M & T")  As for the PHONE#... These scammers are simply SPOOFING the telephone number!  And since YOU are a legitimate customer of M & T,  be extra careful when they call, to be sure it is NOT the scammers.

call several times a week now. don't know who they are and have no accounts. after reading previous comments .... they are scammers looking for personal info.

YES THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! BEWARE! CALLED MY # TWICE YESTERDAY! I have a gMortage account with M&T Bank! SAME AS ABOVE COMMENTS THEY WERE FISHING!

Someone left a orange leaflet on my door today that said to call the 8007241633 number and be prepared to give my account number. The name on was Mandt but that was the only information regarding who it was from. I saw the guy on my doorbell camera and he was in regular clothing(shorts and t-shirt). I have M&T bank for my mortgage and have received calls from a mortgage repayment/assistance department but I'm not sure if this is actually related to the bank my mortgage is not behind so I'm not sure what this is about but I plan to check into it with M&T.

Possible Shill - And don't forget, scammers can spoof numbers.
