I have several calls from this number over the past few months. They claim to be able to get me better interest rates on my credit cards, and then tend to hang up when asked why they're calling someone on the do no call list. .Calls twice a day and has now for two months . I have ask them to take me off their list but they refuse.

good information on one of the posts - here is some advise from Experian:
    Opt Out
You may choose to exclude your name from credit reporting agency lists for unsolicited credit and insurance offers. Creditors and insurers may use file information as the basis for sending you unsolicited offers of credit or insurance. Such offers must include a toll-free phone number for you to call if you want your name and address removed from future lists. If you call, you may select to have your name removed for five years or permanently. If you select the option for permanent removal, you will be mailed a Notice of Election to Opt Out form to complete and return. The toll-free number for all the national credit reporting agencies is 1 888 5OPTOUT (1 888 567 8688).

    Opting In
Most consumers prefer to continue to receive offers that may interest them. If you have previously opted out and would like to request that your name be included in prescreened offer lists, then call 1 888 5OPTOUT (1 888 567 8688) and select the option for opting in.

Opting Out of Other Direct-Marketing Offers
The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) compiles lists of consumers who prefer not to receive direct-mail solicitations for other products and services. DMA members, including Experian, use the DMA list to remove names from their own mailing lists. You can register online at http://www.dmachoice.org/. In addition, you can write to:

    DMA Mail Preference Service

    PO Box 643

    Carmel, NY 10512

If you write to the DMA, you’ll be removed from DMA-member lists for five years.

You also can have your name removed from telemarketing lists by adding your name to the National Do Not Call Registry. To register your name, visit http://www.donotcall.gov/ or call 1 888 382 1222.

Opting out will not end solicitations from all local merchants, religious and charitable associations, professional and alumni associations, politicians, and companies with which you conduct business. To eliminate mail from these groups — as well as mail addressed to “Occupant” or “Resident” — write directly to each source.

I've been getting calls from this number for over a year. I add the number to my block list on my cell phone for a couple of months but as soon as it's removed the calls begin again. I also gets calls from several other numbers and the message is the same: This is your final notice and last chance to lower your interest rate on your credit card etc, etc.

The people calling are criminals. They are trying to trick you and make you give them your personal info so they can steal money from you. They hide behind stolen phone numbers or "spoof". You can report the calls to the FTC or report the phone numbers to www.donotcall.gov but because the phone numbers are spoofed, federal authorities basically cannot track down these criminals. If enough of us report the numbers to donotcall.gov perhaps the feds will finally listen but I don't have a lot of hope that will happen.

Until the feds figure out how to outsmart these people, all you can do is ignore the calls or block the numbers. Don't waste time trying to talk to these scammers b/c all they will do is swear and scream sexually explicit comments at you.

card services... comes up as different phone #'s. this one says toll free call on caller id. they call a couple times a week, sometimes more than once a day. I told them I have no credit cards, they hang up. I told them that I'm on the do not call list, they hang up. I told them to remove me from their list, they hang up. once they gave me a different # to call to remove my name and no one answered that #. how do they get away with this???? I even entered it into one of the reverse phone look up and it said that number didn't exist??? and to enter another #???? well, it must exist, cause they're still annoying me.

The way I slow them down is to make sure they are listening intently and then I blow the loudest whistle I have into their ear.  I bet it makes them a bit leary of making more calls just in case they get my # again.  Seems like a few of them should be a bit deaf in one ear by now.

The DO NOT CALL Registry does nothing but waste your time.  I have been reporting these people for 4 years and they still call every week.  They lie when it says, ''this is your second and final WARNING".  They will warn you at least 3 times each week for 4 years and possibly more.

I ask the person who they connect me with a bunch of questions to keep them connected and then after about 5 minutes i start screaming at them, telling them how studpid they are by calling the warden's private line and that I am in prison. I start begging for them to come over and have sex with me.  It gets VERY interesting at that point;  ESPECIALLY when there's a GUY on the other end. LOL!

I received a call from 1-800-847-2900 at 9:24am on 1/17/2012. The phone call lasted 2 mins and 38 secs, and it was the most upsetting call I have ever received. When I politely requested the male callers supervisor he said he was the supervisor.  I then requested to be taken off the call list, after I have requested the same thing over 15 times.  The male caller then asked me if I had a dog... To which I replied yes, but why does that matter...
He advised me that he was going to come to my home and RAPE my dog.  He used explicitly foul language and explained sexual acts that he was going to perform on my dog. He upset me to the point of vomiting. I am over these people calling. I don't want them to call.  I have asked nicely time and time again to remove me from their list, and they have not.  I don't know what else to do.  If I don't find resolution soon I am going to hire an attorney and file charges of harassment against them.
I have filed with the FTC

I got 2 phone calls from this number today.  The first one a girl called Lydia, Number 2044, when I asked which credit card, she hang up.  Then, another one, this time a male.  When I asked what was this all about and that it was the second time, he told me it was about my immigration status, that it was cancelled, and then put me on hold.
