This company called me at work claiming to be US Bank, stated they had a personal financial matter with me and needed the last four digits of my social security number. I hung up and called the local branch to confirm that it was indeed a spam phone call. Very concerning.

You put the wrong number down where you wrote guarantee it is the same number...the number that called was 2625, not 2525!  It's not US Bank, it's a scammer.

Even US Bank says it's a scammer!  Wake up people, stop giving out your social security digits to these idiots!

BBB Alerts Consumers to Potential Bank Scam

The Better Business Bureau today issued a warning about phone messages allegedly originating with US Bank. The messages instruct consumers to call an 800 number because there has been an alert placed on their bank account.

Instead of a normal banking customer service system, which asks callers to walk through numeric or voice prompts to provide service, the phone number, 800-872-2625, tells callers they have reached US Bank and a customer service representative will be with them shortly and then connects callers with a person who identifies themselves as a representative of US Bank.

During a BBB test call to the 800 number, the representative refused to provide any information about what type of alerts or activity the initial message referred to unless specific account information was provided. When the BBB caller asked to speak with a supervisor, the alleged bank representative again refused unless specific account information was first provided even though the BBB caller explained the reasons for concern.

A subsequent call to US Bank customer service verified that there was no alert on the account in question and that their customer service department would have automatically allowed the caller to speak with a supervisor upon request. A call to the US Bank Fraud Alert department also confirmed that the 800 number, 800-872-2625, was not a US Bank number and that the call was a scam.

The phony call center number is a close variation of the real US Bank customer service number, 800-872-2657, which could easily confuse customers into thinking it, is legitimate.

If you receive a text or phone message claiming to be from any bank or financial institution, the BBB advises you to immediately contact the customer service number on your banking card or statement

i am constantly receiving calls from this number. the display on my phone reads SPAM? so i hesitate to answer.

So many scams you can’t answer you your phone if you don’t know who it is so show who you you are.

In the office on a Saturday?... i DON'T THINK SO.  Fake phone number confirmed by contacting the real US Bank customer service number.

Calls once a day. Don’t ever answer.
