They keep calling, and when I answer, I get a few seconds' burst of music, and then nothing. It's incredibly irritating and completely pointless.

Does Anyone know if ASSETT collections is associated with Watson collections??? I keep getting calls from various numbers and they are always changing their name. Also, Does a " Cease all calls" letter sent Return reciept actually work??    Asset / Watson are truly one of the sleaziest collections Groups I have had to deal with.

I really dispoise this type of telemarketers they usually call from india discased as a debt colletor. This is a pain in the a** because it anoys the heck of my valuable time. I whish some fed agency would fine the f*** out of them hopefully they stop calling then.

I finally went to the Federal Trade Commission Call enforcement division at:

and filed out the online violation form.  I figure with our taxes we can have a federal government enforcement of unscrupulous business use of our phone system, which we pay for.

This number keeps calling me and when I answer they hang up.

Someone from this number calls my cellphone and never leaves a message. They call more than once daily whenever my cellphone is turned on. When I try to call back, my cellular provider (AT&T) says calling to this number is restricted. These calls cost me money. They make me stop working to answer my cellphone. Pure harassment.

I keep getting these calls for the last few days now; when I answer it, I get nothing but music; it added up a lot of minutes on my phone.

And since I finally memorized this number, I just ignore them;  still, it can be very annoying.

They called over the last few years looking for the old owner of the number ( some 6 years ago ). It's my company provided phone number now. Told them it was my company phone for the last few years and I do not know who you are trying to reach.
They started calling again a few months ago. Funny I almost always miss the calls. When I do answer to clear up their mistake there's no one on the line.
They are not vary bright.

To all: Beware of these people, I read a article awhile ago about terrorist using identity theft
to fund there cases . One method is to call you and send a signal through the phone line to see if you
have a computer  with a DSL or phone line,  they have to keep you on the line for a cretin amount of time. When I got my calls they ask for Leonard, when I told them they had the wrong number they just
keep asking for this guy. When I ask them to identify themselves they just keep asking for Leonard.
The FBI is aware of this but as usual they are doing nothing about it.

I have received several calls from different numbers over the years that come from these scammers.  I simply create a phone address with the name BOGUS CALL and plop these numbers in there.  I have never had more the two different numbers calling me within any given amount of time.  The number keeps changing and I suspect it the same scammers every time

Yes, they identify themselves as Nelson-Watson Associates. They are a collection agency based in Haverill, MA  -  HOWEVER, this was a wrong number call asking for some Asian sounding name - NOT ME!

You can call them back at 800 840 4786 and ask them to stop bothering you.

They apologized and said they would never call again.

This number has been calling my home for 8 days now! Time to report it!

It's not a debt collector, I have no issues. SCAM!!

I think the comment from TinksMeOff (see above) is the best!
If the call is not for you then ignore each call by saving it as BOGUS CALL and just DON'T answer it when you see it on the caller ID. If they ever leave a voicemail just delete whenever you get to checking your real messages. Don't waste time or thought on this anymore than you have to. Save the stress for real stuff! (but don't sweat the small stuff -& this is definitely small stuff :-)

Besides, if I ran a Debt Collection company I would want more proof that its a wrong # than the person answering telling me its not them. They probably think it IS the right # & the person will just get tired and pay up.

This is (as is all the other companies listed here) a SCAVENGER DEBT collector.  They buy debt that is out past statute of limitations and once someone has good credit, they start harrassing them, threatening them, etc... they have purchased your old debt at a cost of 5-10 cents on the dollar.  DO NOT TALK TO THEM! If you admit to once having that debt, you start the statute of limitations over again.  This is a multi-million dollar a year industry because they make you think that they can bring your credit score down by not paying!  Just say you don't owe the money and tell them not to call again and if they do, file a complaint.  LOTS of complaints are filed against this industry.

Feel free to call them at random and bug the hell out of them since they cant seem to get it through their FAT heads that the person they are looking for IS NOT ME!! When I told them that, the last bioooootch said "I know that this is you, you better just pay this bill, you are a piece of crap and deserve to go to jail for not paying your bills. That is the next thing we will pursue!"  WTH is up with that? I have called their call back number above and explained to people on 3 different occasions that this number does not belong to whoever they are looking for and that I have had it for 4 years now - they dont care! Isn't there some way to make these people get it?

I own a business here in Haverhill and they call me everday for a woman who I have no idea who she is. I keep telling them they are calling a business and not a residence but they keep calling. Really aggrivating when you are trying to work to be harassed by bill collectors when they are not yours! I have told them everyday to stop calling me and put the number is wrong. They apologize and then I get a call the next day! UGH
