They are National Recovery Center in Atlanta, GA. They are a collection agency who are constantly badgering people. I've been called for a debt that was too old to remember! She said she was a litigator and taking me to court. I told her to go ahead, I'm elderly, disabled and on SS. She can't garnish those funds. She said she is calling SS and telling them I owe the debt and they can take my wages. They can't. It's a law. They are really bad. Just hang up. They can't do a thing but threaten.

I had this ignorant woman named Ms.Bolton call me about a debt that I know I owe. But in order to conduct buisness with me.. you cant get nasty. She called me at my job and as I explained to her dumb behind that in order for me to pay my bill of $543.. I need to keep my job so dont call there.. she states they can call because I owe a debt... Umm last time I checked the FDCPA guidelines, they have to stop calling you at your work if you request it. She gave me an ext to call her back.. but I will hold off on doing that until she sends it in writing. I have worked in collections before and they use scare tactics to try and get you to pay. They have no authority to send you to jail. They break the rules of the fdcpa. They are not the brightest-- but remember collection agencies only pay $8-12 phr in most states.. so these people that call are probably just broke individuals themselves with no home training and they are trying to make a quota to write on the board, so that they can get their bonus at the end of the month.I worked for a law office and I know how it works. They can say things thru the phone, but in person, Im pretty sure they are ghetto, ugly people that wouldnt say it to your face. Im an educated, black female, from NY that got into  collections as a college student that takes no crap and this agency here WILL stop harrassing people. They just think everyone is a country bumpkin that does not know the law.FOR EVERYONE ON HERE. DONT WORRY.. BECAUSE IM SURE THEY DO NOT PAY THEIR BILLS EITHER!

I got a call from a "Mr Antonious Barnes" from N.R.C. the message went on to say there was a complaint against me, and myself or my attorney should call 1-800-935-1139 xt2082, and leave my name phone number social security number and they will return my call within 24hours. I did call back & left a message asking what it was about but did not leave any personal info. I will also ask 4 the certified letter verifying my debt...if I recieve another call.

I have received several calls from this number in the past two weeks. The lady calling has never given a reason for calling and just requests that I call her back. That is not a very effective method in my opinion. I would never call someone back that didn't leave a reason. Also, they keep calling me at work. Is there some sort of law against that?

I answered a call that was for my roommate from  Mr. Lawrence Thomas from "NRC." I asked what this was regarding since I know that my roomie is having financial trouble. He just said that it was regarding a pending legal matter.  These calls are really annoying so I am just going to tell him that he doesn't live hear anymore.  It will save both of us some agony.  Good thing I checked to see what the number was so I can let my roomie know that they're looking for him.

I reported this company to the BBB in Atlanta and the calls stopped!!!  REPORT THEM so they will stop calling you!!!!

They call me all the time s well threatening a lawsiut if no return call is made.. Im looking for the address to send in a c&d letter. Ive been keeping the voicemails so that I can really contact an attorney and sue the heck out of them for threats via voicemail.. This is illegal. They cannot threaten a lawsuit unless thay actually plan to sue me and if I had assets for them to sue me which I dont. If anyone has the address post it so we can all send in these letters to stop the calls. Did you know that with each fdcpa violation they are fined 1000.00 and so far I have 2 grand coming to me for the calls..:) I'll use that to pay off some other bills

I have received the same calls also stating that my attorney could call them also. The bad thing is they also called me at work which is illegal. It's bad enough they are bothering me at home but now at work!!

1-800-935-1139 ext.2043 Ms. Howard theye are calling me at work at my friends house every day 8.30am eastern time (I never leave there). I really dont know how did they got my friends nr. but im so angry about that. No one can call me from someone elses nr? it s not legal i believe

I just got a call from a Terry at 800-935-1139 ext 2031. Did not leave his last name.  The guy left a message stating that if I had an attorney I should give him a case number.  He told me that my case was in danger of going to immediate disposition.  I called back and no threat of lawsuits were made, but he instead made me an offer to settle a debt that he says that I owe.  
I looked up immediate disposition and only found this:  Immediate disposition means a direct method of disposition of dead human remains by way of immediate burial or immediate cremation. Immediate disposition company means any business, other than a licensed funeral establishment, where a licensed funeral service practitioner operates the business of immediate disposition and where business records are kept.
Does anyone know what this guy may be talking about in reference to collections?

This is the third call I received from this # 740-234-0101. they leave #800-935-1139 as a callback #.
I usually don't answer calls that show up as unknown name on the caller ID. I did however take the first call. When I told the jerk I was not the person they were looking for I was called a  liar and theatened he would get me. If I get one more call from them I'm going to the Attorney Generals office with a  complaint,to initiat a siut of my own for harrassment.

National Recovery Center is harrasing me rude to me and constantly calling about a 50cent cd that i supposed to have purchased in 2006 and it is 2009 and when i required the address it was supposed to be ordered from they say that they do not have that address i asked for the debt verification to be sent certified mail they refused to send it certified mail they are really harrasing me claiming that the cd costed $34.99 Please get a life national recovery center

For months I got calls from an insurance company looking for someone named Laura, who had been in an accident with their client. I repeatedly called them and told them they had the wrong number. Finally they quit calling me, and now NRC is calling instead. I've called them back and told them I'm not who they're looking for and they said they'd remove my number but the calls haven't ended. The last time I called them I was really angry and the jerk who answered the phone hung up on me. Argh!

These are the most asinine people I have come in contact with. They harass & try intimidation, on top of rudeness. I filed a complaint with the FTC against them for their rude behavior, & harassment. I returned a call b/c Ms. Watkins left a message on my machine. I returned her call although, I was ill @ the time & didn't want her to call & wake me up.  She was away from her desk so, I left a message saying I had just had surgery & would call her in a couple of days. She called back & hung up then, called back 10 mins later left another message & said I know you had surgery but, this debt needs to be taken care of & there's no turning back now.

this company has numerous phone numbers. they are a collection agency known as Nations Recovery Center They have been calling me almost every day for about a year. I have just quit answering my phone for all undisclosed numbers or ones that I dont know or when the number comes up as 10 or 1. Today I got a call on my cell phone answering machine from Mr. Howard at 1-800-935-1139 ext. 3004 saying that is "impearative" that I call back. I called back  & got "this is NRC..." with out even talking to anyone I just hung up. Im sure they'll call back tomarrow & when they do I'll be ready to tell them I want a certified letter. they are a total nusience of a company and should be better regulated.

This is a fake business do not reply as they are a fraud. 1800 935 1139  calling he is an investigator regarding a claim. I do not have a debt or bill and they said they have a claim. Everyone should report them.

I have been receiving a call at my job from Ms. Howard since last Tuesday. Well today I was DO That woman called and asked the secretary for the number to the Superintendant. So I called back and ripped her up one side and down the other. At which time I told her not to call my job anymore. She then threatened me when some proceeding actions so I told her to do what she thought she needed to do.

thank you for the info, we too have been receiving calls from this and many other numbers. all of them not reviling the true company or what it is regarding. a no mail from any one of the companies. it is quite scary when someone you don't know calling from a company you have never heard of is telling you there could be legal action taken against you. i thought that this is what was afoot when the first call came, i just wasn't sure whom was harassing me. Spritle would know a lot about collection agencies see as pops and speed are always being bothered by Royalton Motors... thanks again its good to have some ammo and know your rights.
