Got a call from this number, connection was so bad that I could not tell who it was from.  When you call the number (same as listed above from NCIC), you only get recordings.  They may offer to give you info, but do not expect to actually get any information.

Received call from this number at 4:45 p.m.   Caller ID showed "Inmate Phone SV".  Recording said "Will you accept the charges for this call?  Press 1 for yes, 2 for no and 3 for disallow future calls from this number."  I read a post here that the number was for a Sumner County Kansas jail.   I don't know anyone in Kansas or anyone who is in jail (as far as I know), this was the first call here.  I hope it doesn't come in again, but if it does I will post again.  Sounds like this a widespread problem.  I'm in Lower Michigan.

I got a call from this number and im not sure if its an inmate or if hes calling from a pay phone or something. His name is Johnny Brown.

I got a call from this number.  It is a collect call from an inmate in a jail.  In this case, the call was from my brother.  The company that the local jail uses for calls is NCIC.  Maybe for some it is a spam call, but it wasn't for me.  I did come here to check first after the call came in 3 consecutive times.  Once I knew it was a collect call from a jail, I knew it was my brother.

i live in lower michigan too and i got the same call! i keep getting them lete at night and all through out the day.

These calls are coming from somewhere in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.  Thank God for MagicJack which won't let me accept these calls.

Son, parents do the best they can and children still choose their own path. Who knows how old this son really is? I've witnessed to that personally and professionally. I see you have the perfect family/life and seeing that it's the case based on your response, I'd stick to what you know best.

This call was from an inmate in a Texas jail. They can only call collect.

I just now got this call from this number. It says Somebody calling from something something jail. I did not understand what jail. And if i want to accept the call. If not then to press 2.

4:40 a.m. on 7-29-2011. Could not understand the person's name so I declined the call.

Apparently, the call came from someone in being held in Eastpointe, MI.

This is an inmate phone services company.  The jail/prison can be in multiple states.  In my case it is my brother calling from a jail in South Texas.

Not a scam.  Well unless you have a brother like mine. ;)

If you don't think you know anyone in jail or prison it is still not a scam.  It is more likely some inmate that had all his numbers on a cell and can't quite remember the phone number.  Therefore he/she is calling you by mistake.

However the more like scenario is you know exactly who is calling and you don't want to admit it.

Several of my family members are complaing about receiving a call from 800 943-2189 asking them if they would like to accept a collect call from an inmate.  It did mention a family member; but did not state which correctional facility they are calling from. All of the calls were denied.  It would be nice if the message gives the location of the inmate along with the name of the caller.

i got a call from this number too around 11:47 to be exact.. it said ma bf name i just want to know where can i locate him at wheres he arrest at the closets jail is lew sterrett but hes not there ... should i wait until tomorrow morning or wat .. !! am gettin worried cus hes on probation for  5years and idk wats going to happen that hes looked up dont even know wheres he located someone help me ASAP !!!
