I've leveled out at 4 calls/day.  2 rings, no message.
I'm paid up on my mortgage, and no notices via mail, and it's not even the 16th of the month, so it can't be late yet.
wells fargo is going to take a hit for this.

Same as everyone else....they call dozens of times per day and will not leave a message!!

If you are truely not with these terrible people, please for the love of all that is good DON'T give them ANY info!!!  Please read the rest of the posts.  By law (atleast in MN) you cannot call for collection purposes more than twice in a 24 hour period.  I contacted Wells Fargo at a different local number, and the WF employee I was talking to was contacted by the scam!  WF is aware of the SCAM, atleast on some level...

Just last week I reported another number connected to Wells Fargo, those ongoing calls from "customer respose" went on for 2 1/5 months and 4 requests asking to be removed from the calling list.  With those calls someone picked up when we answered.  Today this number has started showing up and no one is on the line when we answer and staying on the line for someone to pick up results in disconnection.  We don't any past due accounts with Wells Fargo and if we ever did I hope they'd actually be on the line when we answer.  "Wells Fargo" usually shows up on caller ID when it's a legitimate bussiness call, as it should but all these unknown numbers and customer response numbers are way out of hand.

This number calls in the 6:00 p.m. dinner hour and is identified as "unknown name"

Multiple, annoying calls from this number.  We never answer 800 numbers or Unavailable or Restricted.  Who owns this number?

They call at all hours and continiously? Who is it...I answer.....no one there?

This number keeps calling. Doesn't leave message or anything. Has called at least 4 times today.

It's the Wells Fargo collections dept.... Pay your bills and they will stop calling you... If you return their call, they understand that you may be hesitant to give out your social... they have multiple ways to pull up your acct information without your social! They can try to pull it up by your phone number and also by your name if it's not as common as John Smith!

A lady identified herself as with Wells Fargo... called my MOM at her place of business...said that my husband's "uncle" gave her the number...my husband doesnt' even have an uncle!!! What a Scam!!!  She said she had been trying to reach us... weird.

Just got a call -- female computer voice says "stay on the line for a bank representative."  Needless to say, I did no such thing!

Received a call from somebody (caller ID showed nothing) but the message told me to call back 1-800-944-4601 with Wells Fargo.  I have a mortgage with WF but thought it was odd...

...because it was my business phone and they called at 9pm on a Sunday.

My cell received two more calls the next day precisely at 9am, both without leaving messages.  When I call the number it asks for my account information, which I would never give out unless I knew exactly what number I was calling and that it was from an official Wells Fargo source.

It's a scam.  DO NOT give out any information to these people.

I just got a call tonight for this same thing....  It's about 7:30 in the evening CA time..  They said they were from Wells Fargo, but did not Wells Fargo Home Mortgage which made me wonder a little off the bat since my 2nd is with them and it's not late at all...  They even tried calling my parents house asking to contact me and gave my mother this same number and said they have been trying to reach me.  She called me and I called back, and it said to enter my account number and press #, I did not and it said transferring to an operator and the call would be monitored for training purposes, call was then transferred to a fax machine 3x and to the national conference call center and asked me to enter my pin and I did nothing and it hung up...

This has to be a scam.
Firstly, we have have never made any transactions with Wells Fargo...ever.
Secondly, The person they are trying to reach in my household is not the person who took out the loan, and is on none of the loan papers.
Third, If it is so urgent that they reach this person and the phone calls are never answered, why can't they leave a message/send mail?
Also, if this is a major collection company, why dont they pop up on google as a legitimate debt collection company?

it is wells fargo.  Refused to ID or leave message but when called back the answer was a wells fargo recording.

By law they can only call each # you have 5 times and are allowed to call in 30 minute incriminates if they so wish.. And here is a toughie since when you call it states this call is intended to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose means it's gee golly, debt collections.

Your account even if is only 1 day past due still means you are in collections and they have every right to call.

Surprised that some of you have time to talk on here when you could just answer the phone say when you will pay and the calls would stop...

I let 800#'s, unknown & withheld go to voice mail and then they don't leave a message which is annoying
