If you receiving calls from 800-944-2949 its because you are family member have written a worthless check. Those people that do not pay for these bad checks can be punished under civil are criminal actions. This is no laughing matter and its not fraud you are urged to make the called before matters get worse.

This is an attempt to collect a debt and all information is used for that purpose.

I had already processed a payment to Wells Fargo and 10 days later I received a call from them. I did not pick up the phone, but I did call back and spoke to CS. I asked why they were trying to contact me when they already have my payment and it was processed. The representative apologized that someone tried to contact me and said that on the screen it noted that I had already made my payment and that it processed. She was handing this over to a supervisor to look at since they are not supposed to contact anyone once a payment has been made.

    You are absolutely wrong.
Privacy act does not allow your family debt to discuss with you.
Unless you are co-signor, live in community law state, etc. or you guarantee for a minor, etc.

Got 3 messages for this number stating I should call Wells Fargo at that number.  When I called, they wanted my Social.  I refused.  They said they would get a supervisor to see if there was another way to find out why I had been called. The recording refered to it being re collection on home equity loan.  I have none.  I waited forever to music, then I thought maybe it was one of those numbers that charge you while on hold, so I hung up.  I have an account with WF, so I called them from my statement telephone number.  They looked up everything and said I was clear.  Suggested that someone may have made an error when typing a phone number on an account.  But strangely, when I had called the suggested number, they had my name and phone number.  I think it is a scam to steal ID.  Don't give them any info.

I have no idea who this is.  Just like others... a woman's voice on the recording who only leaves the number with no name.  Also, I seem to be getting all kinds of these kinds of calls and it seems to be blamed on Wells Fargo.  I called Wells Fargo, they searched their registered numbers and none of these numbers are theirs.  So don't hold a grudge against them as they are not behind the calls.

Complete [***].  Wells Fargo calling.  Said I have 8.95 pas due.  REALLY?  I don't fking think so.  When I gave my contact information after verifying it was Wells Fargo I was asked my SOC SEC number, my date of birth and THEN they wanted my mailing address.  When I said it's on my records they wouldn't answer any questions.

Clearly Wells Fargo.  I am late (bad things have happened) and they are legitimately calling.  I'm not so late, however, that the info is out there where scammers should be able to get it, or where external collectors would be utilitized.  Pretty sure this is for their Equity line.

Received auto message to call.  Checked my accounts and they are all current with WF. They have never been delinquent.  There hasnt been any unusual activity.  I called the number back and they wanted account info.  I didnt provide any and they didnt give me an option to talk to anyone so I hung up.  I am not convinced it is WF.

They have identified themselves as Wells Fargo. They are calling for someone who hasn't lived here for decades. They refuse to send any sort of notice by mail, which confirms for me that they have no legitimate business with the people they're calling for.

I told them Do Not Call. Two hours later, they called again!

I am sure it is Wells Fargo, do yourself a favor and change all your phone numbers to a google voice number then you can block any number that keeps calling you.  I did it a month ago and my calls went from 10 a day to 0 - 2 calls.

Call to my cell phone: I said "Hello" twice before they responded.  Male caller was looking for third party.  Advised him he had the wrong number and then asked me to verify the number.  I asked what number was he trying to call and he said "I know what number I'm trying to call" I repeated my phone number and told him the person he's looking for is not at this number.  Male was RUDE.

If this is an attempt at skip tracing this company needs to educate their employees on how to speak to third parties.

The reason they ask that is because they need to verifiy you for security purposes. They cannot disclose any info unless you are fully verified.
