Citi Mastercard called my parents with suspicious purchases that actually were from someone that has stolen their credit card information. They issued a new cc and then they got a letter in the mail saying that it was from the fraud department at Citi Mastercard and to call and verify asap. My mom called and the lady was insistent she needed my mom’s banking account information to proceed. Luckily I’ve told my parents to be weary of this and she hung up. Sad that they’re still taking advantage of people and especially sad that they target the elderly frequently. Phone number was: 1-800-955-5172 which is different from the one on the back of the cc, unfortunate that it seems to be a long running scam.

This is a real phone number, it shows up in my Citi account while logged in to call them for fraud.
