- * replies to KarenThese people are nothing but a scam, my guess is that you work for them and are trying to protect them Karen?? I get calls from them every day and no matter how many times I listen to what the bottom feeders tell me and when I tell them that they have the wrong person their true colors come forth. They are pond scum.
- theseer replies to KarenIt's clear you work there.
- Not StupidThese people called us at the crack of dawn and wanted my birthdate and last four of ss#.....Ummm Noooo!!! This is some kind of scam to get personal information. If this was a legitimate business they would not ask for that information, they would have verified to me what information they had, and they would have given a company name. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE. IF THEY TELL YOU THAT THE INFORMATION IS ALREADY PUBLIC DOMAIN THEN THEY SHOULD VERIFY THAT INFORMATION. It is abundantly obvious that this is a scam. I D theft at its worst.

- Karen LI get calls from this number DAILY on my cell phone. Fortunately, I was able to block their calls. They never leave a message but honestly I am getting tired of seeing the number come up on my phone every day. Additionally, if they are a collection company for student loans as others have said I have no clue why they are calling me. I am in my mid 50s and paid my government student loans within 5 years of graduating so decades ago!!

- HeatherThey called my place of business, called me and asked for my date of birth and social security number. The lady spoke very fast and used a threatening voice. I made it clear that under no circumstances am I giving that information to someone randomly calling me. She told me that she could not help me. A legit business will not ask for your SS#, and Date of birth. Be sure to have passwords set up and do not give those out. Call the number on the back of your card so that you know who you are speaking with.

- Jessica| 2 repliesITS NOT A SCAM PEOPLE! They called me while I was driving home the other day. Asked for my address and last four digits of SS#. They are a student loans debt collector. Said I owe $103 on a loan from college and Named the school. I said that was paid off a couple years ago. She then explained that what happens sometimes is that the interest still accumulates and blah blah... And wanted to know if I could make a payment. I told her I was driving and couldn't and she still tried getting a payment by saying it wont take long all I have to do is read her my card numbers. I told her no! I didn't want to get into a wreck! She switched me to her manager and I said give me a half hour n call me back. Well, when I got home I got online and looked them up and found this site and read through some comments. So I decided to call the department of education and I did owe the $103. They would not except payment they told me that Coast Professionals was legit and I had to make payment to them since my past due account had been placed to them. But the payment would goto the department of education. So the debt collector called back and I made my payment in full. And they said that would bring me out of default. And my bank account says the department of education debited the money. So they are legit. Dont see why the department of education couldnt just take my payment since it went to them n e ways but oh well. Its settled. So if I were you, I would just work something out. All though they can be a pain in the butt with their calling, they can help bring you up to date and out of default. Just ask to set up payment plans and ask for a coupon book to mail in with your payment each month. And dont be afraid to call the department of education and ask questions. HOPE THIS HELPS!

- Information replies to KarenJust to let you know. They ask for SS# because they do not have it. If you work with any company like this you are never able to defer again. You are not eligible for any loan forgiveness through work or government. I would highly recommend not giving any information out to anyone.
- Ronna VehrsWow! They just called my house for my daughter. She does not live here. They wanted me to give info about her but not tell me who they were. I did not give info and won't until they tell me why.

- Karen LAfter a few months hiatus, these people have started calling my cell phone again daily. I have blocked their calls. As stated before, I had student loans almost 30 years ago and paid them off in full. It is interesting that I have had my same cell phone number for 10 years but never received these calls until I switched my cell phone carrier to Verizon...

- JoleneThey are legitimate. They will assist with getting you on a payment plan for student loans & get you out of default & have default taken off your credit report. You dont pay them, you pay dept of education, they just are a contact agency for dept of ed. My tax return was taken & was gonna be taken again and setting up a plan with them for dept of ed prevented them from taking my tax return for the rest. Just answer.

- AngelaReceived a call today stating it was in regards to a personal matter that I needed to give the last four of my social or date of birth. I told the woman due to previous identity theft I refuse and asked to be sent a letter in regards to the matter. The woman stated they have and I needed to give her the last four of my social or date of birth. Once again I informed her of previous identity theft and she stated it's all public knowledge. I informed the woman no it isn't cause I have worked for the IRS and as a paralegal and to send a letter at address they have on file thank you have a nice day and hung up. I do not give my information out over the phone cause I have had identity theft and am still fighting after 20 years for stuff keeps popping up cause the judicial system puts her in jail for six months at a time then she's free to do it again. I pay cash for everything, pay my student loan every month, even send my tax refund to student loan debtor after I receive it so why would they call me, hmm. Guess it's time to look at my credit report again.
- Caller: Would not say
- EmThey call, say nothing about themselves, say it's a private business matter, this call is being recorded, and it's all downhill from there. Just block the call save yourself the trouble.

- CHThey just called. Asked for me, when I asked who they were they said whatever their name is and the company name. I asked what that was and he said "Its the business name" (no [***] sherlock). I asked what the company is and he said he couldn't give that information out but wanted to double check he had the correct person if I could just give him the last 4 of my social and dob and address. I told him no and that he had the correct person and what was this all about. He said this is a personal matter for the person he is trying to reach and cannot give out anything else and asked again for my last 4 social. I told him no way and goodbye if he won't tell me about his company.

- Can't Pay YaI just got a call from them and no matter how much these people harass you. The majority of student loans won't get paid . Students aren't getting jobs as fast as they once did and aren't making enough to live and survive. A degree undergrad or graduate won't make a difference it won't guarantee you employment with a stable income. It's to the point so many borrowers are losing jobs leaving them to take lower paying jobs that leave thm little to get by after paying rent and other important bills.
