- BILLY BOBThey are still at it, I have answered them several times and there is no one there. You get instructions to "push 1 to speak to a representative", I don't take orders from a robot voice.
I won't answer anymore..............
These bottom feeders are relentless in their pursuit of alleged deadbeats. If they have your number listed as one of their "prospects" there is no way other than court order (lawsuit) to get them off of your back. They are not interested in the fact that you are not the deadbeat they are looking for.
The best way to deal with these lowlifes is to say nothing to them. If you answer the call and there actually is someone on the line, when they ask if you are who they are looking for say no and hang up. There is nothing you can say that will satisfy them except that you will send all they want immediately, whether you owe it or not.
Be prepared for calls from these slimeballs forever.

- Seth TannerThey call every day. I finally answered and got nothing but dead air. I waited, but nothing.
- TeriSo stop letting the crooks run you. They are breaking the law, the FDCPA, the TCPA and you can take their money instead!
Take the call, record it if you can but get an address from them... send them a demand for debt validation letter including your demand they produce a contract with your signature on it proving you have any obligation to pay them anything etc.... then from the moment they receive that letter start logging their calls, what time, what day, how many times a day and let it rack up a bit because...... drum roll please.... each and every call after that becomes a violation of the Telephone Practices Act and is worth minimum of 500 bucks each to you!!! Then, sue the pants off em... don't forget to learn what areas of the FDCPA they are violating too....- Caller: UNKNOWN

- beyond annoyedI sent this company a FAX in 2007 @ 1-602-379-1380 telling them to stop calling me or I would file a lawsuit, giving them the number of my attorney general and other agencies I was ready to file a complaint to.
I assume this is who is calling me again. I moved into my home in 2003 and have been receiving debt collection calls for my brother ever since from multiple companies. I have not lived with my brother since I was 18 when I moved out of my parents' home.
My brother has over 100K in credit card debt and has not worked for over 30 years. He has an undiagnosed disability but is smart enough to have gotten these people to give him credit. He has no money/bank account or job, so they are wasting their time.
I have two options. I can change my number to unlisted or just go with a cell phone only. And/or I can contact the Attorney General in my state and/or Commerce Dept. and ask to file a lawsuit against them. They call me every day, sometimes multiple times, and at different times of the day. They never leave a message.
They do not care if the debtor lives at the number or not.
The law states, if you notify them in writing they must stop calling you. It should be something you can document, like a FAX or Registered Mail.
I found this but there may be multiple addresses and numbers. They stopped calling me for a while, but they will never stop completely.
Contact your US Senator and ask them to make tougher laws to stop these type of companies.

- StopCallsThis number has been calling daily usually without leaving a message. This time they finally left a voice mail (automated Indian woman) stating that they are America Express trying to reach someone by the name of Beth Bello. They left a return number 8009647365 and said it was not a solicitation call. This same number was calling me last year as well, looking for the same person - who I have never heard of. I argued with an Indian man on the phone last year and the calls stoped - until now. I called the number back and this time they actually have an option to leave to leave a voice mail if you are not the person they are trying to reach. Hopefully they will stop calling now - but if not, I will be reporting them as I have now advised them that I am not the person they are looking for, I do not know the person they are looking for, the phone number that they are calling is mine and since I do not have a preexisting relationship with them and I am on the do not call list, calling me is a voilation.

- Consumer ProtectionThis number belongs to a very scummy debt collector. They are the worse. They tell consumers that they are representing companies such as American express, etc. But the truth is that they have bought the bad debts for pennies. Now they have to recoup as much as they can on their so called investment. They are completely out of control. They say anything. They claim to represent the court. Or they call themselves mediators. No matter what they say, do not give them a dime. Because your debt will not go away. Hang up on them. Report their harassment on this site so others are warned.

- Fine them againThis was from an October 1, 2012 article:
WASHINGTON -- American Express Co. is paying $112.5 million in refunds and fines to settle regulators' accusations that it charged unlawful late fees and deceived customers to pressure them to pay off old debts or buy extra credit card services.
The company agreed to the settlements announced Monday by four federal agencies, including the Federal Reserve and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Utah regulators.
American Express is refunding $85 million to about 250,000 customers and is paying $27.5 million in civil fines.
The agencies said American Express violated federal laws prohibiting deceptive practices by using false statements to get customers to settle old debts. The regulators say that included falsely telling customers that if they agreed to settlements to partially pay off their debts, the remaining balance would be forgiven.
The violations were said to have occurred from 2003 to this past spring.
The director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Richard Cordray, said in a statement that the company violated consumer-protection laws "at all stages of the game – from the moment a consumer shopped for a card to the moment the consumer got a phone call about long overdue debt."
American Express also charged late fees on some credit cards based on a percentage of the debt owed, a violation of a 2009 law prohibiting certain credit card practices, the regulators said.
