My cousin is in Dillwyn Jail and I accepted the calls to be billed to me but everytime he calls me back I don't hear anything. Can they call your cell collect?

I got the same call. I called back and got the same recording. I don't know anybody in jail, and I want it stopped. I am on the national no call list, so I complaint to them. I told them I think it is a scam. They want you to push buttons and then they can use your number for their call. next time I get the call, I will report it to the police. I have the recording on my machine. I'm so tired of all these stupid calls.

my husband normally calls from GTL, but the past few days it has been MCI.
i answer, and accept it, but it will not let me talk to him.
it keeps calling over & over, on my home phone & cell phone.
& i keep accepting hoping to talk to him, but no luck.
i'm really worried because i haven't talk to him in a few weeks.
so if someone could give me any information on how to go about this it would be GREATLY appreciated!

How do i get my number removed from this list?

This number is associated with VA prisons. If you listen to the entire recording at the end you will hear the inmate actually say his/her name. It is an automated service used to verify inmates request of having your number put on his/her calling list. The service is also used to verify that you agree to having your calls recorded if you do accept the calls and that you also agreed to pay for the calls.

I came home to find that number on the caller ID.  It rang again and I didn't pick up but listened to the message.  After that, I called *60 (call block), then dialed #01#.  I have not received it since.  Call block from your phone company is worth it.

I have received 5 phone calls from this number today: 3 this morning and two right around 7:30 p.m. on November 28.  I know that there is no "person" on the other side so I terminate the call.  However, it's ridiculous that this number keeps calling.

I have gotten two calls from this number.  One yesterday(12/2) and one so far today (12/3).  Since I see so many people have been having problems with this number calling their homes, I am going to block the number.  
I figure no one I know is in jail that I know of, and if they are, I don;t have any $ to bail them out anyway!

This is ridiculous. For over a week now they've been calling me 7+ times today. It's 2 pm in VA and I've already received 6 calls HOWEVER being that it's 3 days before Christmas, I'm in ALASKA with my family therefore, their phones start at 4 am. I'm just beyond disgusted, I've follwed the prompts and try to cancel it like it says, no luck.

I have been getting at lease three calls a day for almost two weeks.  When I finally picked up and pressed one for English, the recording mentioned an inmate, and then another voice saying "Maurice", and then back to the recording.  That is when I hung up.  I wanted to discontinue the calls by going through the prompts, but I was too nervous that the scam would somehow be successful if I did that.  I do not know how to stop the calls.  What's the deal with this scam?

This worked for me:  Call the Global Tel Link technical support staff at 1-877-856-3184.  Tell the rep you are receiving calls from a number in the Global Tel Link system and want them to stop.  Give the rep the phone number you are receiving the calls on.  Apparently a call from this number could originate from any facility in the VA Dept. of Corrections, so ask to have the block be effective from any of those facilities.  It should be effective immediately.

Calm down people. the number is Global tel link.  It is an automated system where an inmate at a virginia prison has added your phone number to call.  If you just FOLLOW THE PROMPTS you can opt out of receiving calls again, not that hard!  Phone companies recycle phone numbers all the time so your number could have been someone elses before and that other person knows someone in prison.

804-674-1535 eastern finan got two calls last night about 850PM.  Got another set of them this morning.  Not answering.  On do not call list.  Voice sounds same as fellow who kept calling in Dec from Vegas.  Maybe same person as runs this web site.

I e-mailed the POC on the Va Department of Corrections web site for an assist considering their area code and prefix are the same (804 674-3000)asking if this number is within their complex?  Receive a response from Larry Traylor, Director of Communications, Virginia Department of Corrections indicating that he had forwarded my message to the representative for the inmate phone system.  His name is Mr. Zidar.  Received e-mail from Thomas Zidar, Field Service Manager, Global Tel-Link, 804 674-1536

woke me up this morning called again at 2 pm then again at 7:30 pm. how do I get them to stop? I do not like phone calls from outside people. I am on the do not call list but I guess it does not always work does it as I see all the other ones on here. HELP!!

I live in seattle and keep getting phone calls from an inmate phone 2 times just today it is from the Yakima state penitentiary. In the last 2 weeks at least 7 times. I dont know anyone in jail and its far away from where i live so i doubt anyone knows me there. When the guy leaves his name it is way too quiet to hear. I see other ppl are getting the same issue. Is there a reason for this? What can be done about it? If anyone can provide any info to me that i wouldn't know it would be helpful please.

I recieved a call from this number 8046741535 claiming they will call me 3 times a day for 5 days and I should press all these numbers of information in phone,....this is a Scam I know, but it needs to stop.....please find out this info for prosecution.....thanks

You will not get any answers on any calls received from this number to this number, I have the City & County Police on this 804-674-1535 & also Verizon is checking on it,,,
