I got a txt today.. "thanks for your request to set up a Direct Debit on your MBNA Credit Card ending ****. Your current payment must be made by another method as you DD only takes effect from your next statement. Reply BILL for more payment info."
So I did..  come back as this:  Bal:£0.00  Avail Cr:£0.00   Cr Limit: £0.00.    So what is that all about, as I do not have an MBNA Card..  with the reply I got I don't have a Balance or a Credit limit and no Credit on this Invisible Credit card..    THEY NEED TO GET A GRIP..

it's definitely MBNA, I receive monthly texts reminding me when my next repayment is due, which I find helpful, plus some larger card transactions are notified, as part of their fraud monitoring.
As reported on previous pages, MBNA also manages other companies' card schemes, so it could be one of those.
If neither applies to you, you should contact MBNA as fraudster may be trying to obtain credit by using your personal data, i.e. "identity theft" - that's potentially quite serious, you should contact MBNA as matter of urgency to clear up BEFORE your credit history is compromised. I've just received a text from MBNA straight after receiving one from a survey scam (I dont have an account with MBNA):
Message about MBNA credit card account ending 7293. Just to confirm, we've updated your account with your new mobile number. If you didn't make this request, plaese contact us using the number on the back of your card. For info. you van text BAL, TRAN or BILL to 07860010010. Save and use this number when you're abroad, or to use messages included in your mobile plan

Phoned MBNA on  0800 062 062 and swore at the auto reply system until I got a real person. Told them about the message and it turns out they have a customer who has 2 numbers in their phone number swapped over. Someone had got the 2 numbers the wrong way round and ended up with my number. Got an apology from a very polite and nice lady. All in all a good end to a unusual situation
