My elderly mother keeps receiving calls from this number, threatening summons action.  This was in reference to an old account of my brother's (who has lived in Alaska for the last 30 years and who we have no contact with).  I have told the company 'Caring Legal Services' that if they contact her again, that they will be the ones speaking with an attorney.  The man that called was named Christopher Powell and I am wondering if there is anything else we can do to stop these harrassing phone calls.  We have received no less than 8 calls from this collection agency for an account she has nothing to do with at all.

Thank you for your concise summation of this SCAM - at first I was scared - I too don't owe anyone and am extremely tired of these calls. I wish there was something that these bureaus could  do to shut these people down. They feel if they throw enough against the wall something will stick.

I do not owe any debt as well as have life lock and review everything on my credit card report etc.

I am writing this to others who may look up this number.

I called the local police and made a complaint so there is record of this in addition he / they call from different numbers - it's been noted and recorded. They are to submit any item they have to me in writing which they never have and to stop calling me; again which they continue to do.

National Do Not Call Registryand File a Complaint; Good to do both

Contact the DOJ in your area and where the phone is from (Department of Justice) and make a complaint

Further look into a class action lawyer - enough complaints and a class action suit is filed and they are sued; which for these scammers would be a great pay back for the fear and scam they impart to hard working consumers.

Lots of collections agencies buy old debt, sometimes really old, past the stature of limitation for the original creditor.  Even if you paid off the original creditor sometimes the collection who currently holds the debt is not updated and they still try to collect.
So some people think they have no debt as its past the 7 to 10 yr mark, or they paid the original creditor of, thus the calls sometimes from agencies.

As for Christopher Powell and Legal Caring Services I agree with everyone as not to answer their calls and if you happen to answer do not give them any info.  I received a message from Legal Caring Services stating in 24hrs I would receive a summons, basically the same msg that is being left for everyone here.  I did not call back as I have no current delinquent debt and knew that if someones going to serve you they do not notify you, basically its like "SURPRISE"  and they give you the summons.   So last your I received a call and msg and no one showed up as I suspected.  Well today I got the same call and msg from Legal Caring Services...what a joke.  Just ignore them as I doubt anyone will show up to serve you with notification.

The scammer are getting more and more aggressive, and will use any excuse to get into your pocket book.
This is another good example of "How to frighten people" into believing they are in trouble.

Get yourself a "CALL BLOCKER" ,and  99% OF THESE TYPE OF CALLS.. GO AWAY.

Now all you need do, is type the number into one of these fantastic free services, and you
can say goodbye to these morons forever...  SIMPLE AS THAT

I failed to mention one EXTREMELY important thing..   NEVER, EVER CALL THEM BACK.  Your call
can be used "against you"...  In many cases, all they have to do, is go before a judge, show him the phone  call record.
THEN they will swear ,  to the judge that you promised to pay...  Judge will  then grant them a judgment
and you're on the hook for 3-6 years of legal harassment.. Don't give them the ammo to hurt yourself..

I keep getting the same calls, in fact I got another one today. FIrst it was from a Legal Consultants and now Legal Caring Services. They have even contacted my family memebers. They never showed up to "serve me" the first time. I have filed complaints with everyone i can think of. I already had credit monitoring and I even contacted them. Its definitely a scam.  

Someone called me stating a warrant has been made in my name and the police will be presenting me at my home with it

I just got a phone call from by the same person Christopher Powell, I did the same [***] to me... he left me a voice mail message, I called him back but when I started questioning he hang up on me.. scam, scam.

I got a few calls from this Company ' Legal Caring Services" trying to scam me out of money.  They said that I need to call them back at (844) 858-2905, and call back Ken Stone. But when they called my Mom on her cell phone looking for me, the number was a (516) area code number.  They said that they need to send me something from the Nassau County Courts to serve me with Fraud, and I had 24 hours to call back.  I called my Attorney to check them out, plus I went to the Nassau County Courthouse to make sure they didn't try and do something there, but there wasn't anything there in my name.  This company is a SCAM, and do not call them back or give out your personal information to them.  Hope this helps some-one else.  

These clowns keep calling and leaving messages; clearly scripted.
When asked for a supervisor or address of the comnany they refuse and become combative. What legitimate business operates this way?

I had a ' Christopher West'  from legal caring services call me twice already with the same bs. Is this the same person?

I got same message but from 844-512-7930               this screams SCAM

The call I received says unknown so I didn't answer.  They left a message and said to call 844-849-7250.  If I didn't reply to this summons they will go to my work and arrest me.  The summons was from a party and they could not give out the name.  The ironic thing is I have been retired for years.
