They say they are from Northstar location services re a debt collection...b/s

I love that you are posting this!!  What a great idea!!!  We all need to take this approach!!!

Didn't answer call, was driving, message was left stating they had important message for a debt collector.  Total scam.

Received a call this morning regarding debt. Just so happened I JUST reviewed by FICO score and looked at my annual credit report (and still had it up on my computer) before the call came in.  I told the lady I have never heard of them and that I was looking at my credit report and I did not see them listed.  She proceeded to say may they have the wrong person and asked me to verify my address.  I said you have it so you tell me and let me verify if it is correct.  She began to get defensive saying I am trying to help you.  I told her they were a scam and I didn't need their help because I did not owe them and I have excellent credit.  She then said she would hang up.  I said ok.

This is truly a scam trying to get information from you.  BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!

They left a message with a professional voice (not off-shore sounding) saying they are debt collectors. But didn't say who they were calling, neither mentioned any specific debt. I don't owe any debt anyway. Must be scammers.

When I didn't recognize the number, I picked up but didn't say anything.  There was a man who kept asking "hello" and then hung up.  I called the number back, blocking my own number, and the VM says it's NorthStar Location Services to collect a debt.  No one answers or says any name.
