Ignore the posts from people saying this company helped them and made their computer super fast.  They are either part of the scam or sadly ill-informed.  Microsoft does not cold call people- in fact, they don't call you at all...no division of Microsoft, none.  There is no way for them to know the situation of your computer (or even if you have one) until you talk to them and log-in with them on the phone (don't give them any info at all and definitely do not log-in while talking to these people).  When you let them into your computer like that, without knowing anything about them (no matter what company it is, but especially one like this that is purely a group of computer-savvy people who can use access to your computer to do any number or illegal things) you open yourself up to them having your private info, contacts, etc., etc. which can be used and abused in all manner of way.  You wouldn't leave your key under the mat for some guy who called you and said he wanted to come over and help you clean up your house.  When these guys walk you through stuff to "help" your computer work better, they are capable of remotely accessing your entire life...items on your computer currently and anything you deleted (nothing is truly gone until you take a hammer to the hard drive).  If your computer works faster, better now that they've "helped" and they haven't yet used your information to attempt to solicit money from your contacts, open accounts in your name, etc., etc., then count yourself lucky (for now) and don't fall for anything like this again.  And, don't be so naive as to recommend it to others.  If your computer is slow then call a reputable company that is registered and physically exists (and able to be contacted...notice you cannot call these people back).  Then, if someone there puts a virus on your computer to steal your info or swipes your contacts or hijacks your financial identity- then you know who to sue.

Same thing with me (except not that early).  Get a Call Blocker app for your phone.  Mine's Android, but I'm sure they have plenty for iPhones.  I've been using mine now for about due to people wanting to sell me drugs and politicians wanting mo money to fight those evil repuglicans.

Over the last year and a half we have received numerous calls (8553832473, 7868003107, 3054329888,8552478657, 3057477394, 3057477552, 7209433040,6787924031, 3059214104,3053902564, 7865744499) with various names but basically the same theme.  From Dept. of Investigation Legal Mediation, or Private Investigator,or  Criminal Division,or  Legal Processing Dept., etc.  All saying basically that "your" (me or my husband?) name and SS# has come up in a case and you need to call them immediately.  Later calls said they also had banking info.  Twice it was the same recorded message saying they needed to hear from me or my attorney immediately - but there was no phone number left to call!
