I first got a message from a guy named Edward, he said that he has a summons in hand and will serve me with it as if I don't pay $5,000.00 that I owe since 2001 from a credit card.  I told him that I do not have that kind of money in hand.  Then he dropped it to $3,000, to $2,000, to $900 if I pay within the next hour.  The guy gave me my entire social security number and other personal information.  I told him that I have no recollection of this debt and I have to confirm it before I decide to make any type of payment.  I was not going to take his word over the phone and whip out a credit card and pay him.  He then started yelling at me saying that he will go to my employer and serve it to me embracing me in front of my co-workers.
I told him to send me a letter identifying the debt; something in writing that can be verified.  I even gave him my e-mail. I never received anything by mail or e-mail, although they said they have.  Now a woman started calling me by the name of Olivia Weston. They both said that I will have a Failure to Appear. What ever! I know the exact steps when a summons has to be served which is by a deputy.  I even called the company that they said I owe the money to and I owe nothing.  Then they said its because the account was sold to another company.

Either way this does not sound good to me.  Be very careful!

I received a call from the 000-000-0000 number. They then gave me the 855-393-3973 number to call to resolve the issue.  I spoke with a gentleman that stated I owed a balance on an old credit card ($554.00) that I no longer have.  I offered to settle for $300 and he was moving forward with the process for payment.  I then stated that I was uncomfortable giving my card number over the phone to a stranger and he hung up.  If it walks like a scam and talks like a scam and they do not mail you anything to your home?  It is a scam!  My next call will be to the Attorney General!

I received the same call. boy was I scared I paid this debt 5 years ago and he told me it didn't matter and that I was nieve for not making sure it was charged off the only way to fix this and not end up in court was to pay them a settlement. the numbers kept changing and finally ended at 876.00 if i paid it today. I told him i would call him back in 20 minutes. in the meantime I checked into the number and found this site. I checked the court docket for our county and there was no record of any pending cases for me. I then contacted our local police department who sent the chief to my house. I received a phone call back from the guy that i spoke to earlier. he asked for me and I said is this david to which he repied "so what did you find out can you get the money" I told him that i checked the docket that i have not received the email from him as promised and that i am waiting for the police chief. he said "you called the police" he still tried to convince me to give him money and when i told him i just wanted to be sure he said to have to police contact him personally. the police chief came out took down all the info and then called him. he still stuck by his story and tried to make me feel bad that he tried so hard to help me out of a bad situation. i  requested that they send the summons to the police dept. since that's who has to serve me. david then started yelling at me, saying our chief of police is out of his jurisdiction and he doesn't care who i call, they will be sueing me from their state. point to this story... these guys are good i almost gave my account to them, even though i know better. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO. they will already have most of your personal information, don't be scared of that, and don't get bullied out of your hard earned money!!!!!! PS. the names that where provide to me by the company where david ross, Jonathon stewat and amber

This company called my number-a Jonathan Stuart-left me a voicemail that states that a summons would be at my house within 48 hours-have my ID ready, etc.  I called the number given--855-393-3793---I told this man that I was left a very aggressive message, and I have no reason to be summoned anywhere by anyone.  He said he would take my number off the list.  My husband was very angry when he heard the message and told me to call back and get a number for the man that left me the message.  I did.  Another person answered and was even more aggressive when I said what I wanted.  He started making fun of me, told me to quit crying, told me that I said my husband wanted to beat him up (I did not say this!) What I did say was my husband wanted to speak to the person who left the message on my voicemail. He then said "Why you harassing this company??" !!! I told him he was harassing me.  This man got very ugly and refused to give me the number or to address the issue. This kind of scam harassment and scare tactic is unlawful and these people should be held accountable.

Received a call from this firm also.  Unfortunately for me I am use to this harassment due to identity theft in late 2012...and it is hell on earth trying to get back one's good name and credit.  I have a lawyer taking care of all of this for me, but, I can tell you this.  If everything on this board is factual(and I truly believe it is), this company has broken so many FDCPA laws, it's ridiculous.  First, they will not call to tell you they are serving you, THEY JUST SHOW UP!!!  You do not need ID..though laws differ from state to state, in my state it is totally legal to leave a summons to anyone in the home over the age of 15 ...you do not have to be present. My summons was literally thrown at a friend of mine as she was leaving my home...she was house sitting for us.
Threatening someone by telling them they will be arrested by the police is untrue, and it is against the law for them to tell you that. While an officer of the court, (i.e., sheriff or constable) may deliver the summons( I was served by a process server)they are not there to arrest you.  Debt collection is a civil, not criminal offense. Most of these bottom-feeders have paid pennies on the dollar for old debts that have passed the statute of limitations and are uncollectable.  That is not to say they won't try to sue in civil court, but most of them won't.  I had one that did, and I have learned the process well. .  What these collectors are hoping for is that you don't show up, you default, they win, and they get not only the amount of the debt, but legal fees...There was NO WAY, I wasn't going to be represented.  But it seems to me in the case of this collector, they are just trying to get people to pay old debts, they may not hv  to.

Like "whistleblower" said is very important...do not gv them any information.  If you haven't received any type of documentation (all in writng.. not on voicemail) such as proof of "alleged debt'  from the collector, or that they have the intent to start the legal process, they are full of it, in my case, I recvd both.  Make sure to check the SOL in your state, also read the credit card/loan, etc. disclosure and agreement and make sure what state laws the debt is abiding by.
I do not condone not paying one's debts, it is the debtors responsibility to do so, but scaring and threatening people over 10 year old debts is just wrong, that's why there are laws in place to protect the consumer, and like I said, laws differ from state to state.  This is only an account of my personal experience, and not meant to be any type of legal advice.

Rcv several calls from Jonathan Stewart threatening to come to my house and place of employement. I just moved into this house, it's a new number. I called back after the 2nd rude phone message only to be harassed by the person who answered on the other line 855-393-3793 and as another person mentioned... made fun of me. I have no debt, these people are SCAMMERS. I requested to be taken off of their call list only to be told there is no list... I owe them money and to pay up. I filed a complaint with the BBB, FCC, and State of NY Attorney General. BEWARE... file a complaint, it's the only way to put these SCAMMERS in their place.

No.  Evidently, they haven't been shut down yet.  I just received a phone call from them and this number is one that no one, but friends and family have access to.  I hung up the first time.  They called back one minute later.  I ignored the call.  They/he left a voice mail to the effect that there is civil litigation... that's as much as I listened to.

Call this number, 716-853-8400,  it is Buffalo District of NY State Atty Generals Office.  Be very nice, they are very nice.  They will mail you, or email you, an investigation complaint form.  It is ILLEGAL to say you will come to a persons place of work.  It is ILLEGAL to say you are going to be served a summons.  DO NOT CALL THE SCAMMERS BACK.  They just call names of people they find in phone book after buying up old debts.  And Olivia Weston who calls, is just a drone who preys on people.  Olivia Weston gets paid a percentage for each collection.  Too bad if the lawyers who use her as a front let her hang out to dry and say "we NEVER knew she was using such language!" when the State Police come knocking, as they will..

If I was Olivia Weston, I would save something like a script provided by her boss, or emails that said "good job" for when she has to go to court.  Then she could at least plead stupid.

Call THIS number, get the complaint form, and make the complaint.  The woman on the phone told me they AGGRESSIVELY pursue this type of thing.  Also, do not answer the call from the 00000 number, just let it roll to voice mail, and save the voice mail.  I have several saved.  Here is number for State atty General office New York in Buffalo... 716-853-8400
