Follow up checked with Tangerine on their regular number 888-826-4374 and there is no record of this number - call Tangerine to report if you get a call from 855-417-1765 it is nothing to do with them - phishing !!

855-417-1765 is a real tangerine number I was just on the line with them and they were verifying some suspicious spending on my card. they didnt ask for any personal information

This isn't phishing... this is Tangerine's fraud department.  The lady was able to talk to me about items on my statements and didn't once ask for personal info.

This is not a phishing number. It's Tangerine's fraud department. I got the call from them twice when my credit card was compromised. I did verify with Tangerine, and they confirmed, it's a fraud department.

The most unprofessional phone call I have ever had. When I was put on hold it was all professional and tangerine like, then the man who answered called me by the wrong name, and didn't know what to say. Then asked me if I was drunk, or American, and if I watched the debate last night.

Got a call about a credit card I applied for.  Asked for some information to confirm it, nothing too personal or usable to steal my identity.  As soon as I hung up, called back the same number and asked for confirmation about the previous call, which I got.  Number is legit.

Tangerine left a voice message and I called the number on my credit card. It was the fraud department. They were very helpful and the questionable transactions were stopped and never reached my account.

Nah, it aint. Call regular Tangerine number, ask to be transfered to the fraud departement, they'll tell you. They might have info on you, stuff you can find on your statement and whatnot, but mine asked for my social security number, which they NEVER ask on the phone, needing only the 3 last to verify your ID. They be phishing us. Careful.

Besides, all these guys who says it's a call from the fraud departement... What did they ask you, how is it legit?

The nos 855-417-1765 & 855-417-1766 belong to Tangerine's Credit card security/fraud team. They had blocked my Tim Hortons Auto reload transaction as they had seen a lot of frauds happening with Tim Hortons reload and wanted to validate if the transaction was legit. I called the main no 888-826-4374 and they transferred me to the security team's queue. As the agent did not warm transfer me, I was asked all verification questions again, so if you want to avoid that, ask the first agent to warm transfer you to credit card security team

855-417-1765 is the number for Tangerine Credit/Security department, 855-417-1766 is Tangerine Security/Fraud

Appel pour valider certaines infos on me demandait par la suite avec une adresse courriel relativement crédible(cartesdecredit@tangerine.ca) de communiquer avec un code d'accès. Avant de procéder j'ai eu le réflexe de vérifier le no. de téléphone !

It is a legit number. Got the call on a Sat. morning. Called back to the same number and it was Tangerine. Spoke to an agent who confirmed my application was approved.
