got a message from this number telling me to call them back toll free at - get this - my own home phone number, with reference number - you guessed it - my phone number

Well that's good to know! Got home and had some garbled message on my machine from this number. I listened to the message a couple of times to understand what they were saying. Had no idea what it was about.

This is the response I received when I queried Partners in Credit (Crime?) about this number.

Kind of creepy. They called me twice and when I pick up, old-timey, scratchy music plays. Weird. I figured it was a prank, but after reading the comments, sounds like some kind of faux Cogeco scam.

they call me EVERY DAY. its aggravating but also starting to be a bit concerning because anytime i pick up- that music plays and then in about 10 seconds they hang up- which is making me feel like either im being hunted... or they're putting me charging me $$$ anytime i pickup to yell at them for bothering me.

Never a message. Not answering, thanks to this service!!

this number called me and when i picked up there was no one on the other line but when i was about to hang up all of a sudden old music comes on and someone crying help

I get nothing when I answer, just silence.

This phone number calls me every day, and no one is on the other line... Sometimes music starts, most of the time I hang up but this time I let it keep going and NO ONE CAME TO THE OTHER END.

i have the same problem. if i call back they say is a long distance call if i puck up is a music playng

Seems I'm not the only one receiving annoying calls from the number that just hangs up every time I answer!!

Called 3 times none was there called the number back there was a rude lady demanding money but wouldn't say who she was or where she was calling from

This number called with a message that they would connect soon. A few seconds later a woman answers "hello?", I say "you called me" no answer. They wasting my time and their apparently.

these people are harassing me ... say they have a "file" on me and want my birthdate to verify - phishing for information - now I am getting messages with the phone ringing until you stay on the line assuming someone will answer at some point ? I have blocked this number ..as I don't own anyone any money and I don't subscribe to Cogeco cable ...I am going to report these people ..when I did get ahold of someone and demanded to know why they were harassing me she wanted info from me which I refused and then she hung up on me .. if they had some sort of collection or file they would be sending letters in the mail ..this is bs and these ppl need to be stopped

This number called and asked for me, when my mother said I didn't live at home any more all of a sudden he asked to speak to my father by our names too!! So creepy. We don't have any association with the banks they mentioned on the directory. So sketch.

At least once a week these people use to call me, I only ever heard a phone ringing and nobody ever picks up or (very rarely) I got an actual person asking for people I don't even know. I've blocked their number on my phone but I still get their voicemails of just the phone ringing. I just want them to stop harassing me but nothing seems to work. They also claimed to be partners in credit but I don't know who they are and I don't owe anyone any money. When I google partners in credit its apparently a real place however I do not owe them any money. I live alone so its obviously not anyone I live with. The number they call me with is not even listed on partners and credit's website.

They called, I picked up and it was an automatic message thanking me for calling and started ringing.. It rang 20+ times and just disconnected. I called back and it rang a bunch of times and disconnected.

They've been calling me almost daily, it's getting annoying. They said they were "partners in credit". I never once picked up, but they keep calling!!!

This number has called my Line,Filling up my Space on my Answering Machine.It's before Christmas (from reading the other Comment's) I Believe it's some kind of Collection Agentcy...
