I also got a call from these folks. Gave me a case number and told me i had an outrageous past due amount of $7500. When they gave me a settlement amount of $1100.00 and then they even offered me a job.  I asked them to send  me a document via email to have it in writing. I was sent a bogus notice. ALSO, they tried to call me back offering me a credit card.  REALLY?  How can these folks get away with this type of behavior? They never asked for my current address but did have my old address and they did have my social security number.  This is ridiculous.  Someone has to do something about these scams.
When looking for a home, I was told rent would be X amount, they were out of the country and need to rent their home. Had pictures and address the whole 9 yards. When i called the leasing company, they said the whole thing was a scam as well.  What in the world has this world been coming too????  REALLY???

Got a message from Matthew Poole today,
about a notice of intent to serve and something
about my property. Either myself, or my spouse
( I'm not married!)- or my legal rep should return
their call. This is the 3rd voicemail in 5 days!
The weird thing is they are leaving the voice
mail on my parents phone! Was a little concerned
didn't know what this could be about- called
back after hours just to see what company
was calling- then looked it up on google.
Thanks so much to all of you for the info!!

I got the same call but I was actually afraid when they sounded like a court representative, they told me they were mediators and not a debt collector, I paid them a down payment of $2000 and agreed to $250/month till the debt is paid off, the debt was for a Discover card that was 16 years old.  I did some research and found that there are lawyers that will review your case for free, if you feel your rights as a consumer have been violated and they will sue the company for damages.  I didn't know anything about statutes of limitations or anything like that.  I did put a stop payment of the $250, but since I already paid them some money, I figuring I'm screwed unless the lawyer can prove that my rights were violated because they misrepresented themselves.

    FightBack
Received a call from these people 3-13-12 at 11:49 am.  "Billy Williams" started off by saying they were seeking to garnish my wages, my real property & bank account, and take me to court over a bill from 1989. I told him I was recording the phone call and turning it over to the proper authorities, and yet, he continued to try to prove his point.  I told him that he was in direct violation of the FDCPA and he said that they didn't have to follow those rules.  (I guess they're above the law?) My advice: Record the message like I did, file a complaint against them with the FTC (which I did), and then mail a copy of the message to the FTC with the reference number the FTC gives you with the complaint.  Everything about this company is a scam and they are violating many laws with false claims and threats. Fight back!

BBB gives them a rating of F and even questions whether they are a legitimate business as well.

They called again (4-26-12). I answered and recorded and reported, once again, by phone to the FTC.

i have had two calls from this people, i find it interesting that his name is mike and he is a mediator for the company really wanting to resovle a issue for 7000.00 if i could pay now ( yea right!) it would be also discounted for about 4600.00  a rule i have learned is to never pay anything giving your account info over the phone unless you have a bill or invoice in hand that they have sent you. i was also givin a case number and will wait to see if i get served papers...if not king 5 news "get jesse" will be given a call not to mention legal authorities. i have never heard of this so called company..next call i wont be so polite and then it will stop i hope.

I have received several messages from Gavin Jones. He told me that an account was opened, or they received it in 2002, with my name and ssn belonging to my dad and my dads physical address. The account originated in GA and I havent lived there in 15 yrs...from a store that has gone out of business.. I know my dad hasnt purchased anything from anyone like that.

I love talking to this guy, but I did tell him to stop calling and to send all paperwork to the address that he had on file... Its funny, he thinks I am in GA with a WA state phone...

I received a number of calls on my answering machine, looking for my step-daughter.  I happened to be at home one evening last week, and picked up the phone when it rang.  It was the425-409-5163
number and spoke to a Stacy Hart.  I told her my step-daughter and I were estranged, and I had not seen of spoken to her in excess of 3 years.  I had no Idea where she lived or how to get in touch with her.  I was told point blank, that I was a liar, and had to have some way to get in touch.  When I reiterated that she had joined a religious cult, and I had no idea where they were, she again began her verbal abuse.  At that time I told her to remove my phone number and not to call again.  I have had two messages since that time.

Thanks for all the posts.  I received three such phone calls, each on the answering machine--which I have not erased.  One said he was a mediator.  A case number was given also. They asked for my son's spouse or POA to call back immediately.  My son is not married and we live in different states.  I did try to return the calls today to determine what they wanted, the operator said they had someone who worked there with a name similar to the one on the recording. I could only reach his answereing machine, and did not leave a message.  Then I decided to check online and found this information.  Like LVRed, I am not in recent contact with my son.  The last time I spoke with him, he had lost his job and said his phone and internet would be next.  I have no other way to reach him, I live 6 hrs from him.  The most recent call was earlier this week, I was at the hospital while my husband had surgery and until he was discharged.   After reading several of the posts, I will definitely not be as worried.

I can't thank everyone enough for taking the time to post about this fraud! I had a message on my machine when I got home from work today. However it had my daughters name and my phone number, and there is no way possible to get the two confused. At first I was worried that she was in a predicament and was ready to call her immediately. Luckily I thought to call her after my granddaughter was put to bed so I had time to think. I got online and luckily found this site. I hope they call back when I'm home next time. I'd like to have a little fun with those dirty scammers! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Calling the WRONG person is a common harassment trick by scum collectors.  It is expected to create family pressure to pay them.  They are violating the law.  But since when did criminals ever care about the law.  You can sue them and easily win.  Collecting the judgment, however, will be hard because of the evasive nature of this particular crew.  What is needed is for Congress (you might have heard of them, a band of people from two opposing parties trying to undo the other side) to make a law that makes their actions truly criminal in the eyes of the law with a mandatory prison term.  Bubba likes to eat debt collectors.

I was called by a fellow named Jelson who told me he worked at IMR Inc, Seattle.  He called from 425-670-8405.  He was looking for someone close to me and I told him this person could be found in the cemetery where buried, but that he wouldn't be able to talk to him.

Yea this collection company is a joke and i seriously doubt they will be in business long. I worked there for a week and never went back, the script they try to make you follow could easily put yourself in some legal trouble for unfair debt collection practices, and the "manager" they put me under was 18 years old and had less than 5 months experience and it defiantly showed..  Still waiting on my paycheck from them to and have made several calls to them and every time they just take my number down, if it comes down to it though the office building has no security at all , i'll just walk right in and I wont be leaving without a check in hand.

Scared my daughter replies to worried mom
My disabled daughter answered the phone and one of these jerks told my daughter that her "mommy was going to go to jail if she didn't answer the phone." My daughter cried on and off for hours and still asks me if "the man is going to take me to jail because because she answered the phone."
Very fortunate to have found this blog.

IMR is the worst company I've ever worked for by far, they are a total scam. I started work on july 1st and got "fired" on Aug 9th due "to the closing of the company" I havent received one pay check and they owe me 3 probabley $1600 worth of paychecks. The supposed boss Sean got one of IMR's floor collectors  pregnet (Faleena) and always favored her in such a creepy way. There is no doubt in my mind that sean is a tweeker and faleena is too because she rocked her house arrest anklet like it was cute. Dont even get me started on Randal, worst manger/business owner known to man. I believe as of now they have more than 30 LNI complaints including myself. Funny how they fired everyone because of the business closing but when I called the other day about my check pete told me he was hiring new employes? Everytime I asked about my checks they would give me some lie about how there bank account is frozen and they can only pay y people at a time and everytime they say you will be paid "tomorrow" but tomorrow never comes. Today the building manger locked the doors to IMR so nobody could get in, hopefully this will put a stop to there scam

Well, Goins is at it again - this time with a "new" company, "IAM" - and a new number - 425 949-5930.  **DO NOT GIVE THIS CRIMINAL ANY OF YOUR MONEY!*  It must be SO easy to beat the system in Washington state. REFER ANY CALLS FROM IMR, or now IAM, to the Washington State Police.  Read all the previous posts - this is Randall Goins, known and convicted CON MAN and CRIMINAL
