They called me three times in about five hours. I'm bored, unemployed, and had nothing better to do with my time so I called them back. I live in an area with pretty much NO jobs and they really do sound legit (though I'm not saying they are!). I have zero income, IRA, 401, etc, so maybe they won't call back. But, she was pretty nice and asked the normal questions recruiters would. This is a good thing to have happen when I just posted my resume, but am really NOT looking for a job. For me, the jury is out on them.

Thanks to all who posted here,  I got a call from Work Save Retire and thought it was a scam and the info posted here helped so much.  They gave me the same line: "This is Kevin from Work Save Retire and I have some questions about your resume".  Thanks for helping me avoid being ripped off!

Joe_Blow, I'm not saying this is/is not a scam.  However, I do want to make some corrections to your investigation based on my own.

1) The address on their website (1480 Lake Dr West, Chanhassen, MN 55317) is on a street that runs east/west.
2) Addresses that are even numbered are on the north side of east/west running streets.
3) By looking at the location of the company's address on mapquest their company is across the street from ballpark at Sunset Ridge Park.
4) I looked up the address & found there are several companies with the same address.  It appears to me that the building is large enough that it could indeed hold several smaller office based companies.

As I said, I'm not trying to imply this company Work Save Retire is a legitimate or scam company.  I just want to make sure everyone is making decisions based on facts.

I got a call from that number and was suspicious also.  A guy named Kevin left me a couple messages and I called back a couple days later but got someone else.    My phone showed a local number of 972-649-0677 even though they give the toll free number above.  They had interest in my resume but when they mentioned there was a download they would offer I quickly told them "Sorry I go to library and don't have internet" so did not seem interested in talking further with me.  I smell a SCAM.  If you accept that download they are offering you may open yourself up to a virus or financial obligations.  Sounds like they got info from legit places like CareerBuilder on people to target.

I have gotten many phone calls and messages from a man from Worksaver Tire wanting to discuss my resume.
The caller ID # is listed as Allen Tx.

If this is a scam I have fallen for it, met with the advisor and gave him my 401K info. If this is a scam is my 401K in trouble?

It's still going on. 10-27-11 just got the message and a voicemail on my cellphone from 855-866-5768. Wonder if we can class-action this based on the no-call list that my number is on!! Maybe we can class-action Careerbuilder?  Probably neither but sure would like to burn all the scammers on a stake in the middle of town square!

I received a call to my home phone and cell from Kevin at Work, Save, Retire.  He gave the same # 855-866-5768, but my caller id listed as 616-425-2282.  He left the exact same message stating that he reviewed my resume and had some questions and to call back the 855#.  I also looked up the company on-line, but as stated in a previous comment you have to "register" to get detailed information.  What a disappointment to learn this is just a telemarketing call.  I guess I will just chalk this up to people trying to make a buck and preying on those that utilize legitimate websites (monster) to try to find a job.  No different that getting unsolicited junk email.  They better not show up at my door!

I was scamed by this number!

Same thing here...I also received a call to my home phone from "Kevin" at Work, Save, Retire.  He gave the same # 855-866-5768, but my caller id listed as 616-425-2282.  He left the exact same message stating that he reviewed my resume and had some questions and to call back the 855 #.  They called the day before so when the identical message was left I immediately called them and asked for Kevin.  The young woman told me that Kevin had been out all day doing some Christmas shopping.  I asked her if there really was a Kevin and she insisted there was.  I told her I knew she was lying and to remove my name from their call list.  She sheepishly agreed.  Beware of these scammers...

Kevin called me too--same exact script. Left 855-866-5768 for call return. Believe I will pass on this. Thanks, friends, for the heads-up.

I got that same call, but I'll bet it was a different Kevin, although that was the name he gave. I'm at work and let it roll over to voicemail on my cell phone. On the voicemail, his wording was precisely the same mentioned in previous posts, that he was calling about "questions about my resumé". He doesn't say it's about a job offer, so he's not entirely misleading, although questions about my resumé at least IMPLIES an interest in a job offer. The call-back number he left was precisely the same as previous posts: 855-866-5768, but my cell phone displayed a local number. Blocking your number from displaying on caller I.D. doesn't work so well in the cellular world as it does on landlines. So, if anyone wants to talk with the Fort Worth version of Kevin, or if you just want to deluge him with unsolicited phone calls at inconvenient times, his number is 972-649-0677.

Can't say it was a scam, exactly. Maybe just someone trying to make a buck. But, if I decide to go with an agency in my job search, there are plenty of agencies out there to choose from, and I will do the choosing.

I too got the call today, of course I couldn't really understand Kevins message, Alsoo the phone number was a 440 area code that Google cant find, but of course the call back number was the same 855 number. A Total shame what scammers will do to take advantage.

Please do not install the Job Finder Gadget" software without first checking the security certificate. The download I received had expired 2 years ago. Dangerous to install software with out-of-date certificates.

Got a call from these people today.  Same story as everyone else.  I told her I would not meet with the financial guy because I already have one.  She is still going to have a recruiter call me in a few days.

Sounds like a scam to me.  I wonder if the software they give you to download has something that will mine your computer for financial information.

No other recruiter that I know of wants to make you meet with a financial person about your 401k.  I won't meet with them or download the software, and I suggest you do the same.

Here's my story. I got a call from these folks today and answered it. Had an OK conversation with someone who claimed to be a former elementary school teacher and she sounded like it. But, hey she's working so what do I care how chipper she sounds. She asked me some questions; I told her I was currently working but my contract would expire in a few months. She asked if it would be OK for a recruiter to call me and I said OK. I missed the call because I was in a work meeting but she sent me an email. In the email there was a "reminder" about a meeting I had with someone in two days. So I called back and I felt they were too pushy - red flag #1. I said that a "reminder" indicated I had agreed to a meeting and knew about it. I didn't. She kept pushing me to meet this week and I said I couldn't but maybe I could meet in a few weeks. No, no that's too far out for them; needs to be right now. So I said something like you called me; I didn't call you. Why don't I call YOU back when I'm ready to look for work. The whole thing gave me a bad feeling so I looked them up and found this site. I can't say if they're good or bad but it seems like they have an agenda and finding me a job might not be their real plan.

Let me assure all here that this company is, in fact, a SCAM. They are NOT recruiters!

Here is the deal: These folks use their "career services" as a front in order to get a financial product salesperson in their "clients" front door to pitch them various annuity plans.  In order to access their "career tools", you must agree to this meeting.

What does a job seeker get in return?: A thirty minute webinar,  access to a very limited board of job postings, and some additional tools and "services" that are very generic and generally available elsewhere. One month later, and after my annuity sales meeting, I am still waiting for a phone call and my personalized job referrals. I won't hold my breath.

This outfit is a joke that takes advantage of today's lousy employment environment to sell their products. This is a sales company NOT a career service. Don't waste your time with Heather and her crew.

I will be rolling-over my wife's 401K into an IRA next month, probably into an indexed annuity, and I can assure you that this $140K will not go into one of this company's products.

I will be filing a complaint with the BBB in the morning.
