- not born yesterdayGot a call from a man who identified as being from "Ceylon Tech Support" claiming that I am not getting "Microsoft patches on [my] computer." This took a few minutes because I could not understand what he was claiming at first. Finally, I said to him, "What is my name?" [Of course, he didn't answer that one]. He offered to give me his company's name and phone number, emphasizing that his company's name is registered. I told him I was not interested and hung up.

- Carroll replies to AKSame thing - asked for the phone number - they told me that my computer wasn't being updated and they need access - I told them they were full of it and hung up. What morons!
- Zack| 1 replyTo the people here who say this is not a scam - come on, really?! Even if they offer a legitimate service with a "real" website, the idea that anyone can divine non-existent error messages on my computer is ludicrous... only made more so by the idea that anyone with this power would be monitoring my boring computer activity. Passed their number on to the DoNotCall registry... maybe they'll get that callback they wanted from them.

- jrchapman replies to jenniferI had a similar call from someone claiming to be a 3rd party contractor for microsoft. microsoft was showing I was not getting updates (which was true, I was having problems). being frustrated, I agreed to let them have remote access. they ran thru team viewer which gave remote control then ran cmd tree and several others. then had me sign up for a 3 month coverage. it was billed to Rick Carter / Compfixo.
I didn't think anything of it until I received the same call, same procedure from someone else.... - jessicagot a phone call from this number with a heavy accent guy advising me to go infront of my computer and follow his instruction,,,, asked him why and where he was from and he said he was from cylon tech support, which they were affiliated with microsoft and my computer was in danger and microsoft cannot send me updates over the online system since my computer is in danger.

- Fawn DobieThey are active again - I asked to be put on the do not call list and was told that it wasn't a sales call. They "called to alert me to a problem with my computer". I hope there aren't too many people that fall for this line.
I asked for the company name and was told "Ceylon Computer Services" Located in Houston TX - It seemed odd to have such a heavy Indian / Hindi accent in Houston. I told him to put me on the do not call list and asked if he understood my request and the US Federal laws about solicitation calls. He thanked me for my time :-)- Caller: Ceylon Computer Services

- Boris the AmericanA scam. My wife received two calls from "Max" at this number, had trouble understanding what he was asking so she just took down the number and left the note for me. I looked up the number and came across this website and some of the most entertaining reading I've had for a long time. Thanks!

- Caller: Ceylon-tech

- LaneThey just called again for the 3rd time today and they use different numbers every time....from now on.....I'm talking w/them and making fun of them and just enjoying their disbelief....last time he asked me if I was joking with him and I said "Sure am"........He then called me a Mother-F-ing Loser and said F-you.....I said keep on talking I'm enjoying this....call me more often.....Heck nothing is working....this has been going on for about 6 months and is progressing worse and worse. Maybe if we all do this, they will get frustrated and stop, or maybe I'll grab a cup of coffee and keep on listening till they get mad and hang up.
- Texas DudeReceived similar call as posted here. Man with Indian accent calling saying he is from Microsoft and he is calling regarding my "windows computer." When asked for more details, he continued to say, it is your "windows computer" and when I told him I do not have a windows computer and use Macs, he hung up. Called back later to try again, I told him I do not have a windows computer and he said goodbye.
The first time they called, the number was listed as UNKNOWN. The second time the number came through as 855-888-5881. - Old MuleyA man with a thick Indian accent called saying there was a problem with my Microsoft update. He asked me to go to my computer and press the "windows" key. When I informed him that my Mac doesn't have a windows key, he said he must have the wrong number and hung up.
