Portfolio Recovery is a royal pain, recently started getting calls from various numbers. I looked up the 859-586-9557 and showing a bogus company after reading all these posts these guys need to go to jail, how do you block them from a cell phone?

Got a call on Aug. 5. No message was left.  Just a question,  If any of these debt collectors, receive money sent to them to settle the old debts say from someone who was unaware of their scam, where does the money go?  Does it go toward the old debt or into Portfolio Recovery's pockets?  Is the debt reported as paid or do they just keep trying to collect?  I think not!!

Very annoying, calls are coming in daily.  Just received a call on Sunday at 8:03 AM. Unbelievable!  Does anhyone know how to put a stop to this. I'm on the No Call List already.  There has to be a worable solution to put a stop to the harassing calls.

Let's get the CEO's number and call it 15 times a day!!!  I don't answer any number I don't recognize.  I checked my credit rating and I have no debt.  Have someone else answer phone and tell them the person they're calling no longer has that phone number.

Whether or not its a land line or a cell line... Portfolio decides to harass you they are going to harass you. Its that simple. I get several calls a day. I know the person they want but dont have anything to do with this person anymore. However since I know them PRC has decided that they bill thats several years over the collection deadline is now mine to pay up. They think I will cough it up for someone that screwed me and so many others they are on the crack and they are stupid to boot.

Caller ID: Portfolio Recovery Company  Kentucky Based Debt Collection Agency. If they are legitimate, the concern is there is no legitimate reason to call since there is no debt of any kind owed at all to anyone, at anytime.

You should say: this debt is not collectible. But the problem is that the consumer credit protection laws do not prevent these dirtbags from calling/harassing...etc.  it only prevents them from filing suit.  Their goal is to keep wearing people down until they give up and pay up.  They are not entitled to ONE RED CENT.

They have tried over and over to collect debt that we paid off twice already and as far back as 2003.  I told them I had documentation and they gave me an e-mail address saying I could send it in and they would delete it from their files.  It was a FAKE e-mail address.  The e-mail address given did not exist.  

They are NOT to be trusted!

these jerks have been calling me for years. I OWE NOONE!!!! I refuse to talk to them....they have the wrong #, but will never listen. So when they call & I see the # on caller id,I pick up the receiver,wait 2 seconds & HANG UP! I NEVER SAY A WORD. iF THEY WANT TO TALK TO ME....SEND ME $50.00 FOR MY TIME!

I screw all credit card companies over..sign up run them to the limit..I screw long and hard..than they hire this [***] company to collect debt..just hang up on themrun you phone thru Google Plus and than block every number they will call you from..they get the hint..ps sign up the Portfolio Recovery Associates, Inc.

I got this call answered it but before they could say anything I said that this call is being recorded and traced by the phone company for legal action. Then ask for the name of the person and company calling. They said that they were sorry that they called the wrong number and hung up on me.

recd from this number "kentucky" today. Have had this cell number for about 8+ years, never anything to collections. Its obviously a rolled debt from whomever had this cell # before me.  Ignore these pests, never answer.
