These people have been calling me for 3 years. I have told them that they have the wrong number. They stop for a month or so and they start again asking for a different person. They have asked for 5-6 people so far. I explained (when there was not a machine, and they let me get a word in) that I do not know these people. I have had the same phone number for 15 years. I thought these robo collection calls were supposed to stop. Do they just have sh*t for brains? I sent a complaint to the FTC. It did no good. It only resulted in the same calls from a different number (8662010940).

I just don't understand what they hope to accomplish by repeatedly calling the same number searching for different people.

I called the number back, and I asked the representative "what is Stephens & Michaels?" and he said "we are the firm of Stephens and Michaels".  I asked "a firm of what? Mattresses? an accounting firm? Law firm?" He said "we do have a law firm here".  I asked "is Stephens & Michaels itself a law firm?" he repeated there is a law firm there.  I repeated the question again if the "firm" Stephens & Michaels was itself a lawfirm, he finally had to say "no".  I said "thank you, that wasn't so hard after all, was it?"  then asked what exactly they do, and he rattled off debt collection, repossession, and other stuff.  I asked if they were a collection agency or a debt purchaser, he didn't answer completely and only said "we are a debt collector like I said" without saying they were NOT a debt purchasing company.  He then asked why I was calling, and I told him simply to find out who they were.

They Keep calling the wrong # and have been told so several times. I have an extensive call log and will initiate a lawsuit for harassment if the calls continue

These jerks from the Law Office of Stevens and Michaels calls me once or twice a day asking for Leslie (Something).  I finally called them back and I spoke to some guy named Peter who was a real jerk. He was very rude.  They told me my number had been removed but there was nothing they could do about the phone calls and then he hung up on me.   HOW DO I GET THEM TO STOP?!?!?!?

This comes in 5 - 6 times a day which constitutes harassment. It needs to be STOPPED!
We are in our 70's and it is now becoming a health risk.

not only do we receive calls from this number,but when we call it back we reach one rude person after another. They also refused to remove our number from their list!

I have been getting calls from collection agencies for years. I finally sat down and started keeping track of the different numbers and times they call. This one called for a few months then for like 2 weeks all the agencies including this one stopped for some reason. They have started up again and yes it is an automated system. I had done my credit report about a month ago and this number nor the agencies name appeared on my credit report. Its odd but I do not have the time not the patiences to deal with them. I am on 26 and recently married. I know I have done some dumb things in the past but I am tired of changing my number just so the calls will stop. What is strange is the fact that the only ones that have my number are doctors offices, work, and family so I don't know how they even got this number. I have had my husband talk to these people in english and spanish telling them that they need to stop harrassing us but the phone calls just keep coming. I have even gotten calls at like 10pm est. I was told that companies are only allowed by law to call from 9am to 9pm, once a day, and when asked to stop calling, they must do so. By them not stopping it is grounds for a harrassment lawsuit.

they have called numerous times for my ex and i called them today and said he doesnt live here and to stop calling me. they asked where they could reach him and i told them id see him in court soon if they wanted me to give him a message. she laughed and said no thats okay we will locate him.

I used to get calls from these guys asking for the person who had my phone number before.  Those calls finally stopped.  They just started up again for another person that I have never heard of.  I called them back to let them know and a lady apologized for the inconvenience and said she removed my name.  She was polite... which was kind of shocking.

At first these people would call looking for other people and the recording would go on and on when I pushed option to speak with a representive they asked me my name telling me that my number would be updated...... Hum unfortunately that was not the case....... I started to get calls supposably I owe a credit card since 1997 Ok since I can recall I have never owned a credit card but this law firm say's I do the funny thing is that supposably the debit is over 300.00 and they will settle for 200.00.  Luckly I don't answer these calls I asked them to send me something in writing and they refused to send me anyting only asked me for my account # to my bank.

I receive calls from this number daily telling me if I don't respond regarding my debt I would be given writen notice before sent to court.  Should I worry?

This number called my cell phone asking for someone else. Why?

This number 1-866-261-7666  has called me and my mother in law about my husband. My husband hasnt used my mother in laws phone number or lived there in over 12 years. They wont stop calling even after you tell them they must have received this number by mistake regarding a debt that is past due.

Just got a call today also from this number.  The recorded message does not actually use the word "law", but the way the recording is done makes it sound like it is a law firm.  Stephen's and Michael's firm. Terms were used like "file number" which is just really an account number that they have assigned to an old debt account that you are no longer liable to pay.  The recording mispronounced my name as well.

This company is BAD NEWS, and they particularly like to prey on the elderly, handicapped, and uneducated that might not know better. This call came in on a cell phone, and the message left was quite lengthy.  If the calls continue for me as they have for others on here, my mailbox will be filled up in no time!!  Does anyone know if there is any way to block these calls on a cell phone???

Since this dubious company isn't likely to stop calling, even after presented with evidence their records are incorrect, there is another way (available from most phone service providers) to deal with harassing callers like this one. "Call Rejection" is what Qwest calls it, it's free, and it works great. The information on how to use it is usually found in the front pages of your local phone directory.

So even if they won't listen to reason, you won't have to listen to the phone ring when they try to call. The call will never go through, unless they get a different number.  ...Which you can always add to the reject list.

These people have contacted me for the first time ever!  I have no collections or a debt, as I have just checked my credit report. I will not call them back, and hopefully they will get the message.  I beleive this is a scam!

Some kind of Law firm called and When I asked about what the call was in reference to since I have to pay for the calls since they are on my cell phone I asked what it was in regards to. She got real snotty and said what do you care if I am not the person they are trying to reach I said " I have to pay for it" What an idiot.
