For the second time this week I have received a call from 866-261-7666.  The first I missed, and the second was a computer generated voice saying for Samuel Quitremain? to please call Stevens & Michaels @ 1-866-261-7666 regarding File #1304886.  I have had the same cell number for some years and never had a caller ask for anybody of that name.  They aren't looking for me because I am solvent.  I was curious and Googled Stephens & Michaels, and to my dismay, found all these cases of people being scammed.  Shame on them!

These morons are calling me from the 866-201-0940 number for a credit card bill from about 15 or so years ago that was my ex-husbands!  I'm not going to give them his number, but I wish they would stop contacting me!  They are very rude and nasty, almost threatening!  They did push themselves off as a "law firm" and after reading these posts (thank God I came across this site)...I'm filing a complaint with the FTC as someone else suggested! I was actually worried when they said "law" firm since there was nothing I did that to warrant a call from a lawyer! Once they talking though, I realized they were simply some low-life credit collectors!!!  Someone should go out and respresent themselves as a police officer and arrest them for being idiots! :)

I have been getting calls from this number for several weeks now.  There's always a British-sounding woman leaving a message for an Elijah Something or Other saying he should call this number.  Since this is my cell phone and I have had this number for a year, I was guessing that the number may have belonged to this person at one time.  The person obviously exists, because the local PD also called this number looking for this same person.

The best way to take care of Stevens and Michaels is to read the FCRA first.  In some of these posts,
they have violated the FCRA and you are entitled to $1,000 or more in damages in court.  Calling before
8am or after 9pm, calling many times per day, identifying themselves as a law firm, etc.  Please read the FCRA, (Fair Credit Reporting Act).

Look at a wonderful website, BudHibbs.com, this man has investigated so many of these scammers, he puts them on his bottom feeders lists and helps everyday people breathe again!!

i got a voicemessage from 866 201- 0940 saying it is urgent.  when i returned the call, instead of identifying themselves like polite people or companies would do, they asked me if i was ........... when i said yes,...they informed me that the call was being tape-recorded.  just then, i needed to attend to something, so  i hung up. before calling again, i googled the companys name and found out they were this abusive company.  i inputted their name into my phone so i will know next time they call and not answer.

if they call again, i will report them for harassment.

I have been getting calls to my cell phone from this number for someone who must have had this number before I got it.  I've had the number for over a year and a half.  Oddly enough, the local PD also called for this person.  I didn't put two and two together though.  Makes me wonder hmmmmm.

They are calling about a cell phone debt through Verizon. This doesn't say much for the fact that Verizon is working with them. The problem is they are calling my parents home and cell phone number and have been told several times to stop and haven't. I told them I was going to prison and she said she would take me off the list. Hope this works. Also, for the gentleman that has a debt 20 years old. There is a law (Fair Debt something) that states after 7 years they no longer can legally call or write you if you have asked them not to. I would pursue this. Send a fax so you have it documented.

Had a message on the answering machine last night, caller didn't ask for a person just said this is_____ from Stephens and Michael's associates, it is imperative that you call me........and left the number.  Now reading these comments, I know what they are, but still don't know who they want.....I will not be returning the call.

They call my house daily!! They are nothing but f...... criminals trying to steal my money and my identity!!

Stephen Michaels & Assoc or Steven's and Michael's law firm. Received at least 2 call from each of 866-261-7666 and 866-543-7860. Asked for someone who doesn't live here. Told the jerk who could barely speak English not to call again.

Where can I report them??? They have the wrong number and

866-261-7666 called my mobile phone again.  
I called back the first time, and they told me that they got wrong number.  But the they called me again today.   They should pay my airtime.

I'm not supposed to be getting calls on this line, so I just wrote down the number. I am So glad I didnt answer! Also glad this site showed what a scammer these people are. Thanks for your services.

I got the same calls for my wife of 7 years now, using her surname from her previoues husband. They don't even have the name right. These are pigs buying up old debt from decades usong any string that links you to somebody & probably are waiting for some sort of Insurance Co. bailout years from now on BS fraudulant claims. You know they will probably get bailed the way things are going in the US.
    The big thing to watch for is the outspring of Banks being built in a short spans of time. This happened under Jimmy Carter's watch & you can dee through this how the bailouts go. Its crime that is never prosecuted fraud. The FBI looks like chumps as now we're going through a second lifecycle of this kind of fraud & none of these Insurance/Bank officials have been arrested. Its beyond RICO, its not even looked at by INTERPOL...

I have been getting calls from this company for the two years that I have had my current phone number.  On several occasions I answered and went thru their nonsense.  The person that they are looking for isn't me; the name isn't even vaguely similar.  On speaking to a "live" person I explained who I was and that the person they are looking for hasn't had the phone number for over 2 years.  I further explained that my number is on the federal no call list.  I am still getting at least a call a day!  I wonder if it would be possible to file a class action suit against the company; maybe that would force them to do searches before making calls to numbers based on "old information" which is not up to date, or maybe it could put them out of business and make us all rich!!!

Don't know who they are looking for but they keep calling here

Have no idea who these guys and we don't owe anyone any money so I am thinking this is an old owner's number creating this problem...  Where is a hotline to a terrorist group who can do something about companies like this?  If they want to wipe out Americans, I have some ready to go and whom no one will miss!
