received message from 866-376-4584 from Bank of America supposedly, saying that they had a question about a transaction that happened earlier in the day. when I called back the guy who answered sounded half asleep and it just didn't seem right

I did get a call from this number. It seemed a little suspicious because their number appeard as "Private" in my caller ID. To make sure it wasn't anything fishy I did call the Bank Of America customer service number. The assiociate stated that this number was indeed registerred to Bank Of America. No worries. If you receive a call from this number call them back. They want to make sure your bank activity was made by you and not someone who found your information by hacking you.

AFter receiving a call from this number, we went into a Bannk of America office, they confirmed that this is indeed a Fraud.

I am working with that number and seems legitimate as I've had to call them back multiple times and work with them to clear issues with my online account.

Just called actual BOA and verify this is a fraud.

I called BankofAmerica customer service today and they connected me to this number and gave me this number because of a hold on my account. So this number is definitly Bank of America and not a fraud.

Like so many others, I got suspicious about this and called BOA; they confirmed that it is legit. Something weird going on here - why so many messages from people saying BOA told them it's fraudulent? Makes me nervous.

I called Bank of America and they do not recognize this number.

I got an email saying to call that number about a potentially fraudulent transfer. The email appeared to be legitimate. After talking to the women on the phone I started to get a bad vibe. She was asking for a lot of personal information. I hung up and called Bank of America customer service and then confirmed that this is indeed their E-Commerce Fraud Protection line and they admitted that they have been having a high call volume with concerns.

To summarize, this is not fraud.

Agree with Mitchell @ 17 Jan 2014. I transfer online to another guy with his cellphone number. Online ID get disabled,  and then receive an email with this number. Call BoA customer service and answer a lot of personal information.

This is NOT a fraudulent number - it is our eCommerce Fraud specialist, who monitors the online/mobile person-to-person transfers!!

It is a LEGIT Bank of America, number.

It's legit: the ecommerce fraud division. It's triggered when you make a transfer to a new person/business or from an unknown device. It's a good thing.

It's  LEGIT Bank of America.  They made changes to my account and I called back the main fraud number to be sure after looking at these reports and the fraud dept confirmed my changes that were logged as fraudulent activity.

I got a call from this number to "verify" a transaction I had tried online.  The verification questions seemed strange: none of the choices they gave me were right.  It sounded fishy to me.  Will call in to check with B of A at their official number but something just does not seem right...

really??  you think ppl give their login info out ??  Not this one!  I hope BOA catches you!!
