They keep calling...now dragging my parents into it - saying it is reference to them.  It is not. they need to be stopped!

You might try reporting them to the BBB or Better Business Bureau.

They called me claiming to be from the Arizona Revenue Service. I do not even live in Arizona and the guy barely spoke English. He got really offended when I told him I could not understand him and told me I was rude for saying so. He put me on hold and after 20 minutes I hung up. when I called back to ask about the company, some other man stated it was UCB. when I asked what was the purpose of his company he asked if had recieved a phone call from them. I repeated the question twice and his reply was why can't you give me your damn name. I hung up.

I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are calling me repeatedly for a matter they have with my mother, with whom I have not lived with for over 10 years. They are incredibly rude and relentless.

You have two choices, www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm and  www.donotcall.gov.  They call using an automatic system many times blanking out the call back number.  They continue to call me for an unknown person leaving their info without leaving a call back number.

I received a call last night and decided to answer it. He claims he is from a collection agency and there was an outstanding bill at my granddaughter's doctor's office for $10.00. He continued to tell me I needed to give him my credit card number to pay the debt and I told him to send me a bill. He then got rude and said they would not send out a bill and I told him he will not get my credit card number for 10.00 damn dollars. First of all he failed to realize that the doctor's office is at MSU and I work for MSU. WTF. UBC met their match......

This number keeps calling and harassing us. We have never dealt with a collection agency before and don't need to. How do we get this to stop?

I got a letter in the mail that appeared to be from American Airlines in Phoenix claiming that I had won 2 round trip airline tickets and I must reply immediately.  The problem is that I know what AA's logo looks like and, while close, it is not close enough.  Also, it jsut said "American".  This reeked of a phish,so I looked up the number that they gave and it is this one.  Lists "Jill Ace" as "Vice President".

You are exactly right. My son owed a Citibank debt and they are calling out of state to his
grandmothers house asking for him. Just ridiculous practice to try to shake things up to get

This number called my son saying they wanted to speak to Jill Massie. They stated that they had confidential information for Jill Massie and gave him a reference number. I called the number. Gave them the reference number. I would not tell them my first name until they told me what this confidential matter was regarding. They refused. I asked them how they got my son's number. They said they called him by accident. It was very suspicious.

I want to know if they arre scammers on people who have lost loved ones and try to say they are hired to collect on hospital nbills etc why would the hospital not send a bill why would U ited collection Burerau Inc call  and give a fax number of 419-866-5130

This is quite interesting. I don't have a lot of close family and I've never had a bad debt in my life, so who could have given me as a reference I wonder?

For most of you it sounds like somebody in your family is a deadbeat. Maybe not their fault, but even so, bill collectors have always worked this way. By annoying the relatives they get paid. Pretty simple really. Either pay the bill yourself or go read the riot act to whomever is using you for a reference. Since they are ignoring the collection agency, the collection agency is naturally annoying the references and likely will continue to do so. This sucks, but otherwise most of these debts would never get repaid. You borrow money, you pay it back. If not those you lied to about repaying are entitled to lean on you to pay. The whole reason they even ask for references is so that when the debt isn't paid they have recourse.

Now this doesn't excuse number spoofing, but rudeness is to be expected. If I had to go to such lengths to get paid back, I'd be rude too. Just sucks that this behavior is targeted at those of us who did not incur the debt.

This is another stupid telemarketer.  Called @ 9:45 am on 6/3 and again @ 10:33 am on 6/4.  Like all the other stupid telemarketers, they listen to our entire greeting message and hang up at he last second as if they think by magic we will be as stupid as they are and pick up the phone !!!!!

Unfortunately today we live in a sociaty, Were people think it is a badge of honor to be as stupid as you can be! Since most people of all ages are so dumbed down. These scam artists are now very successful! And so they are used to tricking people so easy! Also the economy so deep in the crapper the US dollar can crash at any moment! So many people with a few brain cells left in their heads can make decent living tricking the stupid people of today! So when you get a phone call from Ed Mcmahon who has been dead since 2009! LOL, You can thank the 2+2=5 idiots of today for being so dumbed down!
