just got a call from this number in the office, and can't even read my company name correctly. wasting my time. i hung up the phone.

Tell your employer to stop calling people on the 'do not call' list. That is illegal. Not defamation, just fact.

Very rude.  Claim to be 411 and wanting someone in the company with paying power to speak with.
if you tell them your company is not looking to buy anything they just hang up.

First I dont think it is 411 directory assitance website that sounds like yours it vice ,versa seeing how they where in buisness first so you tryed to ride on there coattails and you are the company they fails to tell customers they will be recieving and invoice for your services and you also fail to mention you are part of the yellow pages group which people hate.

It is not yellow Pages  yellow pages is 411.ca these guys are from 411da.ca and they are a complete pain in the rear.

my problem is you wont STOP calling.  I have received 4 different calls from 4 different agents to my business in the last week.  and every time I have said do not contact my company again.  Yet the calls keep coming.  Board line harassment.

Trust me when i say we do you wish to be associated with 411.ca as you just bill people for no reason forget to mention that they are payiong you double as you are yellow pages and 411da.ca is also a good standing member of the BBB and the quebec equivalent

Anyone who works for 411.ca and reaches out to businesses say that they are representing 411.ca. ANYONE ELSE WHO calls and says they are representing some other bs 411 site, hang up. 411.ca is the actual website. You can  verify on their websites if they have the Premiere Google partner or YP logo at the bottom of the page. Also, you can verify the affiliate sites of YP to see which ones are or aren't legit. Backlinks actually help your businesses organic ranking, NAP helps your GMP ranking. Regardless of how much business is produced, if you buy the right product, you will leave with tangible value.

A male caller from this company called from an unknown number and wanted to confirm information regarding our listing. He was quite rude when I said I am not allowed to release any information. I've asked to take down his number and return his phone call.  I've decided to look up this number and their website and found out that our business is not even listed. Will not be returning his calls.

They call and ask if you are authorized to verify information for their directory. After getting all your details, they tell you they are sending an invoice of $800!!! They should be stopped. Can I report them to someone?

Thank you so much for clarifying!  Some slimey sounding guy just called from there saying that they gave us a one year listing for free and now they want to charge us for the next year.  I've been here for 28 years and I've never seen anything listed at 411 for any $$.  Sorry I thought it was the REAL 411(.ca).

Just had a call from this number - said some company name and they are the company or site that replaced the yellow pages. I said he would have to talk to someone else from the company to confirm the information and no one was there to do that at the moment. Then he proceeds to make it sound like a terrible thing to remove our listing.

I think we should all get together and start calling and harassing them like they do to us small business owners. Ridiculous.

This is 100% a SCAM!!!!! Brian Silverman just called saying he'd like to introduce himself from 411 Directory Assistance because my listing (my apparent free listing) has expired and I needed to renew it. He used my old company name from a few years ago (the company is now closed) and read out an address I've not lived at for about six years. He then goes on to tell me how well the listing is doing, to which I respond, "Could you tell me how the listing is doing well?” Obviously he had no clear response since he would have no way of knowing if my company would have benefited from this alleged listing. He did say that I was listed under the financial and legal section…which further confirms the illegitimacy of this company and listing since my business did not fall under either of those categories. This scam has been running for years in Montreal. It disappears for a while when the police crack down on them and then they resurface under different names and somewhat different scripts. When I pointed out that I know this is a scam the guy became hostile and started saying “Scam, scam, scam, everyone’s saying it’s a scam”. LOL, it was quite funny actually. Since I had a few minutes to spare I decided to call the number back to see who might pick up. Of course it’s a series of recordings that lets you choose a few different options to be directed to. Accounting is first, of course and customer service next. You can go around in circles all day long but the only time you can talk to someone is when you choose #1 for Accounting. A guy picks up and will be glad to take your payment information and process your credit card for a listing that doesn’t exist! I asked the guy from Accounting where I could find my listing since Brian said I could go find it at 411da.ca. All I had to do was type in my phone number. He said he had no idea since he was in the accounting department and he thinks Brian is in Marketing. So I asked to be transferred to Marketing so I could chat with Brian again and he said he was not able to since Brian was on a different floor. Imagine that, Directory Assistance hasn’t managed to master the art of transferring calls to another department…

So basically, they try to trick people into thinking that they have a listing with them when in reality it’s 411.ca that people end up finding online; which is a free service. It would be nice if the authorities could put an end to this once and for all.
