this number keeps calling at lest 8 times a day, but says nothing then hangs up

This company calls me almost daily, sometimes multiple times per day.
Every time someone is on the line, finally, they hang up on me before I can finish saying "Please remove my number from your system, I am not interested"... even if I let them finish their sales pitch.

They are rude and if I met them face to face I'd probably tie them to a chair and scream in their ear until they begged me to stop, that is how I feel about these illegal calls. My phone is on the do not call list. at least I added it a long time ago.

Anyhow, since I ask them first and foremost to remove my phone number, they should and cannot claim they did not hear me since they had to be listening to see if I wanted to take them up on their sales pitch.

I called the better business bureau in my area and they gave me information about the company. They said it was located in New York and the owner is a man named Gene Atkinson. They only have 1 registered complaint with the BBB, so I suggest everyone start calling if we want to get this taken care of. The BBB in New York City's phone number is : 212-533-6200. This is what I was advised to do by the customer service representative at the BBB near me. Hope I helped!

I keep getting phone calls from this number. It only rings once and when I call back the line is busy. How do I get them to stop calling me?

I am also getting calls from these people at this number.  They will say something like do you have a credit card ending in XXXX or do you still have address 123 main st and I think wait.  

Something seems a bit unethical here.

Plus these people are remarkably rude and they call very often.  When I tell them to not call they ignore my request hang up and call back in a few hours.

I am contacting my local news agencies to see if something can be done about it.

This global marketing company calls at least 3 times a day. When you say you want your number removed they hang up. My Credit Union knows nothing about this "rewards" they are trying to offer.

These idiots call me 3 and 4 times a day. I dont know where they got my credit card number i havent bought anything online recently and when i ask to be taken off their list they tell me they can't i have to contact the retailer to be taken off the list.  most of the time when i answer they immediately hang up on me and when someone does answer they say their name so fast i cant understand it but they're from some marketing company.  If charges show up on my account im gonna be super pissed! They dont stop calling me no matter what i say or how many times i dont answer.

I have been getting a lot of calls from this number 866-491-2180, the same as the rest of you. I wanted to stop it because none of my calls had someone on the other end to talk. I was hung up on every time. Eventually stopped picking it up and started calling back. Every time I called back, it was busy. This irritated me very much, so I started diggin into who they were. I did a search on YellowPages.com and came up with 3 numbers. I called each one and found that 2 were mislabled (supposedly the wrong name) and the third claimed to know who Global Marketing Strategies was, but said they were no longer the company that held that phone number. I dug deeper because that didn't seem right to me that they would know who had the number prior to them receiving it. Sorry, but I don't know who had my number before I got it. How could they. I checked them out (tried to) on the FCC site. I came up with nothing. Then I looked on the BBB site. Found them. Same (866) 491-2180 number and get this, same number (212) 869-4610 that I called and they claimed Global Marketing Strategies no longer had that number. I called back and got no answer. Guess he was found out and couldn't handle being put on the spot. But public information gave me everything that I have found out and it's not illegal for me to give you the company managers name : Jeanne Atkinson   and the address :

This number has been calling me about 12 times a day. I had to set my phone to silent because it is so disruptive! I answered once and there was nobody there so I called the number back and only got a busy signal. I am getting so angry I called my phone carrier and logged a complaint with them I also have logged my phone with the no call list but unfortunately I can't file a complaint with them until my phone as been in the system for 31 days but as soon as that day hits I will file. I suggest any of you out there register your phone with the nocall.gov site and complain also as soon as you can!!!

I first answered the call, the rude guy stated my address name and credit card number. He said this is you right? I told him no and hung up. After that, when they call they hang up on me. So I decided not to answer their calls or hang up on them.

I called my service carrier (at&t) and they have a system to block that number, so that they can't call again. It is $4.99 a month. I am probably gonna do that for a month then see if they call again a month from now.

i have received a call for 3 times within the last 3 days and they ask my name. when i asked who are they, they just hang up. They do not want to say who are they but they still keep calling me..and keep hanging up on me.

I keep getting phone calls from 866-491-2180. When I answer no one says anything. When I call back I get a busy signal. They call at least three to four times a day. Don't know who it is.

Ok,I've been getting about 3-5 calls A DAY from this number everyday for the past 3 weeks. As others have said, they would simply hang up when you answer it and then call back a little later. I finally put it on my auto-reject list, but is there any way to get them to quit calling all together?

866.491.2180 calls me five times a day...  Morning, noon and night.  ATT's customer care site says they will not block individual numbers from calling.  My LG phone does not have a feature to block it.  I do not want to change my number, I want them to stop!

I submitted an entry on the contact form on the Accor website and left a voicemail on the cell number from one the other posts.  We'll see what happens.  When I answer, they hang up.  They do not leave messages.  I wonder if they call a zillion times a day to see how many times you answer and at what time of day you answer, then sell the info to other telemarketers.  Who knows?

I agree with the other person who says these jerks should be shot.

I've been getting calls from this company for a month, up to 5 calls every day, at all hours, including weekends.  I asked not to be called ever again, to be placed on the do not call list, and then stopped answering these repeated calls.  Finally I started answering the calls again and continually demanded that they stop calling that I did not want to do business with there company ever no matter what it costs or doesn't cost because they are rude and have verbally harassed and insulted me repeatedly and I was told today that it is illegal for me not to accept their trial offer and rebate cards. I have since reported the calls to my card carrier that they have information on, have had the card canceled and issued a new card, filed a complaint with the FCC and the FTC.  I hope they figure out who the hell these guys are and get them on every charge possible.
