These people are trying to collect a debt for fraudulent activity.  They hit my checking account for a lot of money using ACH transactions.  I travel extensively and didn't notice right away.  My bank shut them off, I reported them to all the credit reporting agencies, and to the federal government site.  I then filed a police report and I'm waiting for that to come back so I can finish up the paperwork for the credit reporting agencies.  I lost money and they want me to pay them money for something I did not start, sign up for, or ask for.  They have no record of my signature as I have never agreed to anything to automatically come out of my checking account.

They call several times a day, but will not leave a message of any sort.  I looked it up here and it says scam, creditor, steling idenity.  I figure if they can't leave a message then i don't need to return the call. If it was important wouldn't they leave a message? I have my name on my voicemail too. But i think this might be a scam. Old bills already paid. No they do not get to ask for extra $ to pay off a bill, that money comes from the company they accepted the old bills from.  Do'n give them info.

When you answer the phone, they start asking personal questions, and then refuse to tell you what company they're calling for him, I hang up. By law a company is required to tell the person they are calling what company they're calling from. Nobody in their right mind is going to give out personal information to someone that they don't know and they have no clue what the person is calling about!

Caller sounded like a native Indian.  He started out with the line that this call is being recorded.  I stopped him right there and told him to go F%#k himself and hung up on him.  Then I blocked this number on my telephone.  Maybe my being rude and blunt will give them the hint that most people are onto their scams.

These type of scammer are stupid and lazy just like most Indians that think we working people owe them a living.  I have made it a point to be as rude and nasty as I can possibly be to these trash bags.

Attempt to get credit intro or get you to send money to settle a questionable debt THAT WILL NEVER BE APPLIED TO IT.

If you just want to mess with them, then start your own question session TO VERIFY IT'S A LEGAL CALL. Ask them (1) name of company acct they're representing to collect a debt for; (2) type of acct; (3)acct # and (4)amount in arrears. A REAL debt collector will already know this info.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO, NOR VERIFY WHAT THEY SAY.  NEVER say, "YES" to ANY question asked as it can be used as authorizing a purchase or agreement. Finally ask them their company name so you can verify their standing with the Better Business Bureau/BBB.

If you just want to get them to hang up quickly, tell them this:  "This call is being recorded for legal and verification purposed. (Then state TIME & DATE + # calling you). Any scam caller will disconnect very quickly. I answer ANY UNKNOWN CALLER with that statement and they usually hang up quickly unless it's a valid call.
