Caller says she was up-dating the local yellow pages for the internet.  Wanted verification on the phone number and business address.

Tried to call this number back and they hang up after 2 rings.

Automated call said my business had been selected by the Small Business Association to be featured om Google - just p;ress 1.  So I did just to see what they were about.  Man came on and said my business wouild be featured on google in my area.  I asked him if he knew what my business was - her didn't answer.  I asked him to tell me if he knew whether my business was already featured on Google or not since Ihave worked to make my business website visible myself.  He replied that it wasn't featured unless I paid.  I asked what his charges were and he said $99 set up fee and $190+ per month to keep me there.  I laughed and hung up.  Suggestions:  Keep these callers on the phone in unproductive calls as long as possible, then call their 800 number phones from pay phones in your area.  Calling from your business phone, home phone or cell costs them only a few cents per minute - but pay phone calls can cost them BIG BUCKS per minute.

Interesting, I too subscribe to Information Week...

They seem to be getting peoples phone numbers from business networking web apps. I'm referring to sites like LinkedIn. The reason I suspect this is because this is the only place where I have listed my number. There are probably other ways in which the get this information, but I have a feeling that the stragedy is the same. they join these sites, and/or as corbett pointed out, magazine subscriptions (they could be selling the information).Terrible, isn't it?

Got several calls from 8665463793 but no message left.  The most recent time was Nov 8, 2007 @ 16:00.

Got a call but hang-up on me. Rude and annoying.

I keep getting calls from this number as well.  Never anyone there.  I too subscribe to Information Week.  That makes complete sense as to the source.  Not good.

We are on the "do not call" registry, just renewed last month and still we get calls from this number and they hang up

I got the following before they hung up on me: They are from "Management Insight" calling from an outbound call center at Massachusetts.

They called me 11/14...10/18...10/15

They called and said they were from yellow pages and need to update my listing.  I said we already did they and they hung up.  Can't call back, either.  

What's up with this?  Are these groups trying to get personal information to use in illegal ways?

Female caller with heavy accent claims to be with my local Yellow Pages.She wanted to update information on our "internet yellow page ad". I asked her where she was calling from. She said Florida. I told her my local Yellow Page Company did not have a Florida address and that I would phone them myself to verify any information. She asked if she could call back. I told her No. I tried to call the number back that appeared on my caller I.D., It wouldn't go through. I've been ripped off twice over the phone from other companies from Florida. Just a little "Heads-up!"

The telemarketer from this number has escalated to the point of verbal harrassment. They simply will not quit calling me, so I am taking action.

I just phoned the FCC and anyone is allowed to file a complaint against a company via e-mail. The lady I spoke to said the more complaints, the better and they will take it from there.

yes whomever this is calls me too.  I'm tired of the hangup.  they do it at least twice a week

This is the 12th number that I'm tracking.  All say they're from "The Pharmacy."  They continue to call repetitively, whether I ask them not to, tell them not to ever call again, don't answer, answer with my fax, etc.  I signed up for Call Rejection thru Qwest, and I'm hoping this helps.

I just don't answer anymore. But it's interesting to read the comments on how they operate.

I get calls from this # all the time. I finally put a stop to this and took back control of my phone system. They call and hang up and don't say anything. I run a small biz and don't have time for this. I changed my phone service to http://www.sonictalk.net  . Now whenever they call they get a message from me telling them to stop calling and they are not welcome here. I can do this with any number that calls me. You can also forward them to another # like the do not call list. This is really fun. I almost can't wait for someone else to call and hang up on me. I recommend you drop your phone company and switch to http://www.sonictalk.net where you have control of these people. The number for Sonic Talk is 1-866-923-0985.

This number keeps showing up so I answered today.  A woman with what sounds like a mideastern accent says she is calling and needs to know whether I am a personal residence or has she reached a business.  I told her I don't answer those type questions, and that she is the one that called me and if she doesn't already know, too bad.  Don't call again.  Hung up!
