Similar calls about "business i'm currently conducting" and asking me to call back to 866-696-4188. we are certain we have no debt. i tried to call back but got a vm so i'm not leaving a message. they only leave automated messages not asking for anyone in particular which tells me its some sort of a hoax. i also used to get calls for a person who used to live here, and im assuming they are doing some sort of address lookup and getting my phone number thinking they can reach her. so annoying.

I recived a phone call today from these people. For a minute there they kinda scared me with thri legal tactics. But i thought for a minute like what the heck, so i pulled some researched on the interent and what do you know they are a collection agency. They posed themselves as lawyer type people or in another words law firm. When the supposedly head woman got on the phone she was rude and used derogatory language towards me.i contacted my attorny and i'm filling lawsuit against them. The lady was so rude the person ahead of her had to grab the phone and step in. I plan to send a cease letter.

I received numerous recorded messages from "Adam Soloman", requesting I call back "regarding business I am currently conducting."  After making sure it was a toll-free number (hey, I don't want to get charged for calling a number!), I called 1-866-696-4188.  The first person I spoke with, disconnected when I asked what company they were.  The second person I got (I called right back), was very helpful and told me they were "Superior Recovery Services & Assoc.", a collection firm.  I told her I had no debt and she said the only way to check on the file was for me to give them my phone #.  I had did so, and she told me the name of the person in their files.  I recognized the name as someone who had my phone number before me - over 6 years ago.  She told me they would remove my number from their files since the last time they had her phone number was from 2001.  Hope I don't get any calls from them anymore.  Thankfully, I had a nice person on the other line - not everyone's experience, I take it...

Same as above...called me at work saying there was a court case pending in the State of New Hampshire...didn't want to blind side me...etc. I hung up on him. He called back and my co-worker answered and put him in my voice mail. Frank Shapiro left a threatening message with very few details a case number to refer to and that I had to call him "immediately today" at 866-696-4188 before drastic  action was taken.

I'll write a cease and desist letter and see where it goes.

got a call for my son's old bank of american cc account.  they said they would be serving papers on him at this address for court proceedings.  i said go ahead, can't get blood out of a turnip.

Got a voicemail today, same as above... very ambiguous, I could help clear up a matter, etc.  Michael Kohn or CON was the caller.  Seemed polite on the voicemail.  They only make money when they collect, so their time is valuable to them... ever thought about keeping them on the line with small talk?  How's the weather?  Got any job openings as I am out-of-work?  How do you think the Cubs will do next year?  Who are you voting for in the upcoming election, etc... but Never acknowledge who you are, where you live, that you know who they are calling about, etc.  I believe I'll head to Wal-Mart and call them from a pay phone if they still exist.

He called back and asked for human resources and I advised him that they will not release any information. Frank Shapiro left a case number but when I asked if he had a Florida Case Number he said not until Friday.

I got a call last Thursday (8/28/08) from a "Adam Soloman" calling about a "business I am conducting"...they left 866-696-4188...I finally called today (9/2/08)...whoever answered said this was an "automated dialer" and that they are a collection agency...he asked for phone number called (my home number) and it was not even for me...the person who answered said "we are a collection agency looking for deadbeats who don't pay their bills..." and asked if I knew the party they were calling for...I hung up on him after he made the statement mentioned...

These people called me and threatened me with suit.  Left me a message on Friday, saying that they were filing suit on Monday.  I googled them over the weekend and found all these comments.  I did return their call on Monday, and the man I spoke to said his name was Michael Kahn.  I explained to him that the My Cash Now account was opened fraudulently in my name (I am currently going through identify theft).  He told me he felt I was lying.  These people are scum.  By the way, so is My Cash Now.  They didn't seem to care that this account was opened by way of fraud, and keep referring me back to these collection scumbags.  I told them I refuse to call their collection scum.  I consider this matter closed.  My call came from 800-801-0065.  Also, I have e-mailed my local TV station, to do a piece for their "hall of shame".

JUST FYI - DON'T USE MY CASH NOW FOR ANY PAYDAY LOANS.  THEY QUICKLY SUBMIT TO THIS SCUM COLLECTION AGENCY, AND AREN'T WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU.

I called because the number on my cell showed up numerous times as restricted...first talked to a Rebecca, & she HU when I requested no more calls to my cell,she did ID name of company only as SRS & Assoc.,so I found the # on the internet, I called back talked to Rebecca again, & she transferred me supposedly to "another" one of the managers, Rachel..who had no concern about my request or my explanation of my financial situation, said she would continue to call whenever she wanted and hu.........very rude and ill educated employees.........really must be thirsty for that commission.

I had a message left on my cell phone saying that I had to call Frank Shapiro back as I was part of a civil action case in MA and that he didn't want me to be blindsided by anything.   He left a case message and said that it was urgent that I call him back.  The entire message was not clear but it sounded like he said that he was calling from the Ramos Law Offices and he mantioned the first name of a woman.

Omg these people keep calling me also from a 856-691-3142 number. The problem is they are asking for someone whom we dont know or ever heard of,and leaving threatening messages on my machine.i have called them several times asking them to remove my number and they get all crazy on the phone insisting that i know the person they are calling here for? They still call several times a day and im about ready to get my number changed . I dont know what else to do i reported them but that hasnt helped.I wrote them asking them to stop also and they still call?and every time someone calls its a different person.im at the end of my rope with these SRS associate people.What else can i possibly do?any help would be appreciated.

I just received a call and was only told that i have to call back a Paula Bell @866-696-4188 re case and number 08-299019 regarding pending legal matter. nothing else was given to me and i have no idea what they are calling for. i just got a message at my job which i though they could not call you at work. Any way how do i send a cease and desist letter?

Paula  called  this  morning asking for our daughter, was wrong with the name,andsaid there was legal action pending against her.

Just remember, we all have legal rights. According to the fair debt collection practices act you have the right to challenge the debt and ask for verification. This includes requesting an explanation of the debt owed, what the money is owed for and how they came about calculating the fees they say you owe. They also, upon request show you a copy of the original contract or documents that form the basis of the debt. They also must provide the name and address of the original creditor upon request.

When you receive a letter from a collection agency, reply within 30 days that you dispute it if you do not agree with the amount. Also request the above information. If they cannot provide that information, do not pay them. Many times they are zombie debt collectors and will not be able to give you that information not to mention more than likely it will be past the statute of limitations for suing you. Know your rights and do not be intimidated by them.

I have to agree with 1 and only 1 post of this sad little message board of debtors... I myself am a collection representative... it is a real job... i get a real paycheck... and I wouldn't have a job if bills were paid... unfortunately on a daily basis I myself as a collector am harassed by profanity, lies, and down right disrespect for people.  I am not a threatening collector I just tell you the deal and what I can do to help but again all i get is cursed and... Its not our fault your bills aren't getting paid... find a second job... TRUE the economy sucks... the reason why??!?!  BECAUSE NO ONE PAYS THEIR BILLS!!! daily contracts are signed whether it be for a Mortgage, Car loan, Credit cards, Loans... and daily contracts are broken because people do not have control over their finances... their finances have control over them... WAKE UP AMERICA... stop pointing the finger at people for calling all throughout the day!!  answer the phone make an attempt to pay your bill and make right on a contract that you obligated yourself to and signed your name to... it may be hard  but sacrifices need to be made... oh and to clear up your misinterpretation of the FDCPA calls are allowed daily!! 8am-9pm in your respective time zone.. calls to your work are allowed daily within the time frame... unless you request no calls to your work... for calls to cease at your home... a written request must be submitted... and for the complainers with the wrong #s... phone numbers are recycled constantly.. if you just got a cell and people are calling you  its not because we purposely wanted to annoy you... the number was supplied by the debtor when they had possession of it... a nice call in to the office to say hey you have the wrong # will be suffice...  however i must agree  there are [***] that work with me  you will get that bad representative that wants to bully people and be the tough guy.. bottom line... its your debt its your credit report its your life that's affected with you not paying your bill... overcome that ignorant rep ask for a new person to speak with and handle your affairs... not paying your bill does not but hurt you!! i make an hourly wage... do i get commission?? yeah of course i make commission with he [***] that i have to put up with on a daily basis with peoples ignorance..... They also apparently have a Frank Shapiro...wonder if he's related to Brian...This is at least the fourth company to buy the same debt over and over again, every few months a new agency calls me about this debt which was written off buy the company due to a divorce.

Got a message for my husband pertaining to one of his brothers on some legal matter. Frank Shapiro said he was calling on behalf of his client Mark Weinburg on a pending claim in Texas. That the law requires all parties envloved be notified. That a letter of representation had been sent to no avail. That it wasn't a sales call & to return the call TODAY. What responsibilty is it of ours for them to call us on someone elses debt? It's just another way for them to scare people into telling them how to find money. I read on another site that this is a company that buys up old debts. Does anyone know for sure?
