Had a voice mail message left at my job claiming it was a debt collection and to call Stevens & Michaels at 1-866-788-9612. No name was given by caller other than Stevens & Michaels.

Thanks, for all the comments on Stephens and Michaels Associates. Because I'm getting calls from them and was wondering who was these people leaving a message that trying to scare you.

they asked for charles...with a thick foreign accent. and in the most evil growl i said "not. here." and hung up.

One of the many weird calls I continually get.  If it's not PortFOOLio Recovery or this one, it's a host of others.  They are looking for two different people with nothing to do with each other.  They continue to call...some have been calling for years; this one is fairly new.

Yeah they ask for my brother and he has been in prison for the last 7 years and they dudnt want to talk to me but only him and then ask when will he be in i was like in about 10 years then he said he will try later, I said ok so ill just block the calls he docent have any bills either so they are just grasping

they called my mobile no a few times usually leaving a message or if i answer the phone there is a voice recording. telling me i owe something and they would track me down and try to scare me with police. today i didn't answer the call and it showed up in my voicemail. but no message was spoken only noise in background. i just moved to states half year ago. this was a brandnew phone i got. and i don't owe any money to anybody no open bills etc. i don't even know how they get the number nor i understand why they try to scare me off , for what?

I put the number in my call list and label is 'collector x'. x is a number

This number is fraud....they called me and  asked if I was (my name0 I said yes, then they asked is my last 4 digits of social security number is XXXX....I ask 'what did you say?', they stated the question again, I stated :who are you?' they hung up.....This is a fraudulent collection agency trying get monies from common working people shame on them...Do not give them any information and tell them you are reporting them to the FBI....

My Mother received an telephone call from this Agency / Company at approximately 13:15 Hours. They stated that they were looking for me. They identified themselves and Stephen & Associates representing another third party collector called / DBA as Pinnacle Recovery Services C/O Verizon Wireless PCS. The bill they were trying to collect on is nine (9) years old and was filed on a Chapter Seven (7) United States Bankruptcy in 2007. I do not recall this company being at the R22 Creditor Meeting for this proceeding, but they were certainly listed on my bankruptcy as a creditor. The State of Florida has a three (3) year statue of limitations on revolving credit accounts. Furthermore, this company / agency is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). There are forty - seven (47) Complaints listed against them. I am contacting the three major credit reporting bureaus, FTC, FCC, and my State Attorney to file a complaint. They are pulling credit reports for out of date debts, debts declared on federal bankruptcies, and contributing to people's permanent status of poverty. Stop the madness.

These people have called me for months...at all hours of the day AND NIGHT. Today, He asked for someone who is not known to me.  Then he asked me to provide him with the WRONG  person's phone number, so that  he could stop calling my house. He said "all this would have stopped if you had answered your phone," I told him he never left a message so that I could call back. I DID answer the phone, at least 3 of the many times he called me. I was assured at least 3 times that my phone # would be removed from their calling list. He kept asking my if this WRONG person was my daughter, or my mother, or an aunt, etc., and what was her phone number.

I asked him his name, and he gave it to me. Then I asked him what the phone call was in reference to...who he worked for. He told me ; Stephens and Michaels, but refused to tell me what their business was.

I've had this phone number for over 40 years, and I told him that, and his response was 'Have her call me, and all this will stop."

Just got a call and she kept asking for a person. We told her this is a business line and to stop calling us.

Most smartphones (at least Android supported ones) now allow you to add calls to a reject list.  The call doesn't even ring, just gets forwarded to your voicemail.  A legit company with legit business will ALWAYS leave a voicemail.
