The person with whom I spoke at United Health Care confirmed that this was an illegitimate number calling me & there is no reason United Health Care would need to call me for benefits coordination at this time.  He also stated that this has been an ongoing issue as some individuals are misrepresenting themselves as working for United Health Care.  If in doubt, I'd suggest calling a reliable number to confirm.

I actually work for this company in the Coordination of Benefits department. Optum is part of the United Health Group umbrella and this number and the company is legit. We call our members as part of regular routine account maintenance or because there is information on a claim that has triggered a possible other insurance. We call our members to verify if there is any other insurance coverage, either with another insurance company or if the member was involved in accident in order to process claims properly and in a timely manner. This also helps our members not have to deal with receiving a bill that they should not receive. Providers and other insurance companies many times don't let us know of any coordination of benefits information so we rely on our members to work with us to keep information correct.

I received a call this morning from a Cassandra saying I needed to call back to verify my medical information. I just called United healthcare and they said NO they do not need that and it was a scam call.

this is BS ...i just spoke to UHC ...U do not need the SSN all u need is date of birth to pull up records or address......and ALL u do is deal with the meds end and UHC deals with medical....

If this co is legitimate, then need to find a way to communicate without being so stupid as to leave a voice mail and without being so scary.... Otherwise, hope they go out of business...

Why call none stop multiple times within 3 minutes? Only a Scam caller does this.
Caller ID says United Health.. Anyone can change their caller ID..
I might answer if your caller ID is "Your Mama"
