Got a call from this number. Who are they??

Number comes up restricted and says they are calling from UPS and that a package was delivered COD and duty and taxes are owed to Canada IRS and to call back 1-866-866-4875

Got a call on my new cell, which isn't listed of course. They claim to be UPS they're calling about an invoice. There is no such invoice. Meantime, I looked up a UPS Customer Service number on their website and found they've been receiving calls about the aforementioned number and fake invoices. It's a scam. Police have been notified by UPS and they've asked me to contact my local Police as well.
If you receive a call from this "866-836-4875" number about an unknown invoice, DO NOT give your credit card info and DO call the police with the number and time of the call.

I also got a call from this number.  It was an automated message that left me a UPS account # and said I owed money - no mention of how much.  It also gave me the phone #, 866-836-4875, to call.  I phoned an actual number on UPS's site and the customer service agent told me there was no such account # and that the call was not legitimate.

I actually had a UPS delivery, which I paid for in person. This number has called multiple times saying that I owe money, and when I called UPS there was a record of me paying. Still getting the calls though.

Its RMS which is the collection wing for UPS. If you owe UPS money, chances are it will be these guys who end up calling you.....and they don't stop! They have an automated system that will call on a fairly regular basis until you pay whatever it is you may owe or block the number so you don't have to hear from them anymore.

I just received a call from this number. It gave me an account number & a callback number. I sent something to a friend in Canada in Aug. I know he paid the brokerage & custom fees.
I promptly called UPS to ask them. The rep told me that their driver would delivery package with COD being paid. The rep told me to disregard the orignal call.

correction: wouldn't deliver package without COD being paid.

I received that call today.. It says that its ups and you own them money for a shipping.. Doesnt say from when and what delivery.. Its a scam! Dont answer

I don't even use ups and they left me a message saying I owed them money but didnt say how much. They left a number to call back but since I'm not even a customer, not gonna bother. Scam alert!

There was a call the other day.computer generated; stating i have a cod and gave me invoice number..so i called back..they want invoice number..French speaking lady..maybe situated in Quebec, not sure..but possible, anyhow..they want payment..FIRST OFF I NEVER ORDERED ANYING COD AND DONT HAVE UPS ACCOUNT..Folks this is a Scam..also found ups website looks not real..be careful.

Got a call from this number, it was UPS, I had a bill from them for duties and their customs broker fees that I recently paid so I think it is legit. I don't have an account with them, I just ordered something from amazon and they couldn't collect the fees the day I picked it up so they billed me.
That being said I would never give my credit card to anyone who calls me.

You can file any fraud complaint, such as emails from "your bank", job offers that want you to pay money, calls that "you've won a vacation", etc. Happy reporting!

Oh also, the woman I spoke with on the phone says that there's a report going as far back as 2008, but they're all very vague. If anyone has called the number back and got through to someone, please report any details!

I ordered An item from eBay in the states which had a shipping price of $30 which I thought was high for such a small item. When the item arrived the ups driver told me there were extra charges of $75 which I thought were outrageous. So I gave him my debit card number which also is a visa only for online shopping. They didn't get my $75 but now they are calling me non stop. I think this is a scam through drivers who work for UPS. And use a 1866 number as a front. The driver was East Indian and possibly I think it's a scam to fund terrorism.

I sold an item on eBay and shipped, via UPS to TEMISCAMING, QC, CA 06/29/2015.
Call came in today, demanding payment for "past due COD customs fees."   Based on this thread, I ignored it. I hink the post above me, by "Core", may be an accurate description of the situation.

I just receive acall and i called back the person i spoke with knew about a package i received from a company kn the UK however it came through canada post not  ups she said something like its done through ups then given to canada post. I asked her how i have the merchandise on hand if its cod? I said i paid at the canada post outlet she asked me how i said unsure either debit or credit. I asked her where her office is located and her employee number she refused to tell me. I reasked how this company knows my order and my name/phone number and restated again how i have the pkg if its cod? She said it takes 10 days process pmt and my pmt didn't go through.  She was "looking" and said oh you paid by credit card and the charge didn't go through. She then put me on hold and call was disconnected. I rechecked and i paid by debit at the outlet. She had no transaction history and said she didn't know what credit card number i paid with.  Ill be checking my paper work again but i have proof i paid what i was charged and again any company wont release without pmt on the spot. Also if there was a credit card issue they would contact the credit card company - thats what we do at my work.

It's legit. i got a message from that number. I got a package via UPS/COD paid with my credit card.
Lost the card a day later. Therefore, I put a hold on it so no purchases would go through.They left me an invoice number and that call back number. however, i've call the UPS 1-800's number instead of their call back number and they have that invoice on file for the amount i owed.
