- Call type: Non-profit organization
- MarkTotal, 100% B.S. Don't trust them DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD-EARNED.
If you were legitimate and raising money for Veterans, would you spell the word Vetrains?
Look at the "parent" company ... royal-web.com --- site has not been updated since 2003.
If you want to donate, call the Vets directly.- Caller: Foundation for American Veterains
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Gary| 1 replyrang 3-4 times no answer no message?
- HNguyenI'm on the do not call list. It does'nt work ???
They still call me.
Stop it. - DaleinazHNguyen, the do-not-call list does not apply to charities, political groups, and survey folks. And any business that you have an existing relationship with, unless you have told them otherwise. This number apparently claims to be a charity, and is thus exempt. (Any group that spends >75% of income on fundraising and overhead, however, is NOT a charity in my book!)
If any organization calls repeatedly, contact your phone provider about "selective call rejection" where you have a list of numbers that you do not accept calls from. If they call, they just get a message saying that you are not accepting calls at this time. Your phone never rings. These folks have called enough to get added to my list.
I have anonymous call blocking, and any number that comes in as "800 Service" or "Columbus OH" or something similar, I just never answer. If it is important, they will leave a message. When my credit card co. flagged a "suspicious" charge (possibly fraudulent), they DID leave a message on my machine. (We were not home, when we arrived, I called back and confirmed the charge.) - Daleinaz replies to anonymousYes, and according the Washington State Secretary of State's office (www.sos.wa.gov/charities/search.aspx), they spend exactly 11 cents of every dollar on Program Services, that is, the things they tell you they are collecting money for. The other 89 cents of every dollar went to fundraising and administration.
I think you would do more for veterans by walking into your local VA hospital lobby and handing out $5 bills. - Beth_KBeen receiving calls from this # for some time. Usually don't answer, but this morning, felt like I was SICK of them calling, so I answered. After much delay, with me saying "Hello, hello HELLO?", person on line said he was calling from "Associated Community Services", that they were putting together packages for soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan, and if they sent a pledge envelope to me, would I be willing to make a small contribution. I told them I was working with a friend whose husband is in the military to send things over (true), so I wouldn't be sending them $. Seriously, it's easy enough to find local soldiers to support, you DO NOT need to send $ to an organization who appears to be getting rich off of generous, well-intentioned people!
- Caller: Associated Community Services

- dijust got a call from 866-842-1465 - I had just gone into do not call list and put the 866-311-9739 on the do not ccall - so I guess they just keep switching from one number to another.
- confusedwhy am i getting this call when we are on no call list. they did not leave a message
- Caller: no name given
- SherryThis number came up on our Caller ID today at 7:30 PM. I, too, am registered with our state's do not call list. I've learned NOT to pick up unless I recognize the name and/or phone number. No message is ever left! Years ago, it was not uncommon to see a police whistle next to a phone. As soon as the "uninvited" party started to speak they received an eardrum-breaking shriek from that whistle - funny, they never called our house again!
Let's ALL start a new trend - substituting a bullhorn or door alarm for a whistle!- Caller: NOT PROVIDED
- JudyFoundation For Veterans
Research shows it's a total scam.
I like to keep these losers on the phone as long as possible diving them less time to try to scam the
elderly and vulnerable. If you have the time just let them chat you up. I even put them on hold or tell them to stand by ...which they do because they are desperate to scam you.
I like to think of it as reverse inconvenience.- Caller: They claim: The Foundation for Vetrerans
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- ScooterI would like to know how to chop their nuts off? Called at 8:40 pm and did not answer when I was awakened and said "hello" over and over
- Caller: 800 Service
- AndyI reported to the do not call list. They are a business. Not legit but a business.
- Caller: CRAP
- DramaHonestly guys, in this bad economical situation these solicitors don't stand a chance whether charity of not. I would never even give donation over the phone whether legit of not. Unfortunately tough luck for this organizations that really needs donation. Unless the govt can stamp out these unscrupulous scams these charity organizations are not going to get any donations at all. Best is invest in caller ID and don't pick up the phone if you don't recognize the number. That's what I am doing. Also, I don't give out cellphone number to anyone except my family and friends only. I don't use it for shopping and registering anything.
