- S, GordonThey keep leaving a message my cell phone, saying it is "Applied Bank" and that it is "imperitive" that I call back as soon as possible. When I answer the phone, they ask for "Terry........" (can't get the last name, because their English is so broken) Even though I've told them repeatedly that I don't know anyone named Terry, and have asked them to stop calling, they continue to call, 2 and 3 times per day.

- BrandonI just started getting calls on my cell phone from this number yesterday. They called twice yesterday and no one answered either time. Tonight I got another call. No one answered at first but then I got a recording saying that someone would be with me shortly. I figured it was worth staying on the line to tell whoever it was to stop calling. I waited a few seconds and someone with a foreign accent came on asking for someone else. Long story short, they asked how long I've had my number, then my name. I told the guy "John Doe" (he didn't get it) and he said he could update their records for 40-some dollars. Incredible! I told him to stop calling a few times. Hopefully that's the last I'll hear from them. If not, I had the idea of putting a silent ringtone on my phone and assigning it to that number.
- CrystalI got a call from this number today. I could hardly understand what was being said. They had the wrong number and they preceded to call me two more times after that.
- LisaGot the same call from "applied bank" that it was imperative for me to call..
Thanks to this site I did not call back. - BrandonI have gotten even more calls from this place since my last post! I got a message (silence) left on my voicemail this afternoon and another call this evening. Then, I called THEM back. The guy says he works for Applied Card Bank. I told him I kept getting calls from them, he asked if I had an account with them, I said no, he said they must have been trying to reach someone else, and then he told me that they were trying to contact Karen (purely BS I assume since he didn't look anything up.)
I looked up some information on Applied Card Bank online and it looks like they are a loan-shark caliber credit card company that is notorious for having rude, ineffective customer service agents (and horrible interest rates and fees.) - WeaveNot everyone who receives harassing calls from this company is late on a payment. I've never even had an account with Applied Bank Card formerly known as Cross Country Bank. Therefore, how could I be late on a bill? I am not late on ANY bill. However, I receive 2-3 calls per day, every day of the week, even on Sunday. The name on my CallerID is either "OUT OF AREA" or "TOLL FREE NUMBER" however the number is always 866-873-8592.
Most times, the calls are abandoned calls, where no one answers then it hangs up. However, a few times, I have spoken to someone just like everyone else reports. However, I have spoken to at least two different people. They have foreign accents and the line is full of static. I filed complaints with the FCC. They said I needed to file a complaint with the FTC since this is a collection agency. I filed that complaint just a few minutes ago. I am also tracing the calls.
Just google applied card bank and read all the horror stories! There are tons of them.- Caller: Applied Bank Card or Bank Card Services
- PeteGot multiple calls from them, finally returned one, asked them to remove my phone number as they were calling for someone with a similar name. Fine for a couple months, then they called me back. I returned the call, asked them to spell the last name and said - that's not me. Went round and round, he asked for the last 4 of my social, I said - no way, you can give ME the last four on the account. Obviously they weren't going to do that, so I caved and gave him my last 2 digits. He confirmed it wasn't me and (hopefully) removed me from the database.

- TyI have been called every day at least once a day, usually multiple times by this company that just doesn't get a clue. I have actually spoken to them three times this week alone asking them to take my number off of their list. I have done some research and found that you can call their corporate offices and dial people within their organization by last name. The number is 484-840-1700 and the President's name is Charlie Albano. I suppose that if enough of us called Mr. Albano and tied up his valuable time with calls that aren't related in any way shape or form to his direct responsibilities they might figure out that we're tired of the same.

- AbbyThey call my house, and call my cell. I do not have an applied card account, but my boyfriend does. They called his phone, waited for voicemail, hung up, and then called my phone. Not sure how his cell and mine are linked, how they got my name and home number, but I refuse to answer. I think if even someone used the phone to call on a balance or something they can keep, trace and track that number... no other solutions come to mind. They do call before 7am and after 9pm, which I thought was illegal, and on Sundays... don't these people ever take a break!!!
- NAThis [***] keeps calling
- NACalls every day
- RSK in VA4, 5, 6 times a day, for at least the last two months, I'm having to clear this number from my inbox. I'd never heard of Applied Bank until they started calling my cell phone number, which only my wife and friends have, AND I'm on the Do Not Call list. I finally called them back. After about a minute of blasting music, a girl with a heavy Asian accent answered. I told her that after reading posts on this site (and others) about Applied Bank, I had no intention whatsoever of conducting business with them. Told her to remove the number from the database immediately and do not call again. She then tried to direct me to a customer service line which I needed to call to have the number removed. I interrupted her, and told her "No! I don't have to do anything! Remove the number now! End of conversation! Goodbye!" Will it be removed? I'm not holding my breath...

- RSK in VAUpdating my post above...the calls went away for about a week, and then (insert "Twilight Zone" theme here), they started up again this morning!!! I then went to the Federal Trade Commission website and filed a complaint. Every person who has received a call from these idiots needs to do so too. It only takes a few minutes. The more, the better.

- BobI have also been receiving calls from this company
Here is the deal..they issue credit cards to people with poor or no credit.
My guess is some deadbeat used my cell # and now I cannot get them to stop calling
My advice is do not give them any part of your SS# or your name
I called yesterday and asked them to stop calling and told them the woman they were asking for does not won the cell phone
They then asked for my name and I told them no. That is all I need
My guess would be that some of the people who are complaining about these calls probably have accounts with these clowns and are delinquent. The rest of us got caught up in the system
If you Google the bank you can get their address is Delaware and send a letter asking them to take you off the list- Caller: Applied Bank
- TmblweedThanks to Ty's comment and recommendation on 12/29/07:
I dialed the number and actually reached the Office of the President of Applied Card Systems.
Per Ty's comment, the number of the President is:
484-840-1700
I actually talked to the Secretary of the President, and she transferred me to a Senior VP, whose name is:
Mike Cool. (484) 840-1700 x29166
But apparently it seems like Mr. Cool (yeah, I can't believe that's his last name) is used to calls like this, because without picking up my calls, he transferred me to some lady who "works below him", by the name of Allan at (484) 840-1700 x21585... [Sun-Thurs 2:30 - 11:30PM, EST]
...who then answered my call and then put me on HOLD without listening to my message!!!
<sigh>
But at least when Allan was done, she transferred me to Mike Cool, who wanted to make sure that the matter had been taken care of, and recommended that I call him back personally in the future if it's not taken care of.
Well, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best...
